Postpartum bradycardia?

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've checked in.

I recently gave birth to a baby boy. He's healthy and we could not be happier!

i have complete heartblock (100% ventricular pacing, <5% atrial pacing). Was diagnosa year and a half ago and had a Medtronic Pacemaker installed. I have no discernible underlying conditions that led to the heartblock.

One week postpartum, I'm noticing that my resting heart rate is consistently around 50 BPM -...

Amiodarone?

It's just been recommeded that I commence taking it as I've been getting some quite severe runs of VT.  I've litterally only taken the first days loading dose of 3 X 200mg and my chest has become husky within a few hours of taking the first tablet, I was almost wheezy overnight.  I know it is well known that it has some quite severe side effects, but does anyone actually have any experience of taking it at all??? Should I be concerned or does this sound like typical side...

SOB and general weakness

I have had my pacemaker for over seven years now. I am in generally good condition for my 66 years and swim a distance of approximately 3km  x 3-4 times a week at a relatively good clip. My little friend's performance is examined approximately every six months and apart from an episode a couple of years back where they detected arrythmia, I pass with flying colours. I see my cardiologist every 12 to 18 months and the conclusion is invariably "see you next year". I do have S...

POTS

Any one else on here have POTS? I was just diagnosed last Thursday after 21 years of a long list of symptoms. Although ive had 3 ablations and a pacemaker implanted around 13 years ago what really made me search for answers was when my face started turning half red and half white so I really started to do my research and convinced my doctor to do a tilt table test and it was a definite positive for POTS.

Anyone experience pregnancy with an ICD or Pacemaker?

I just got my 1st ICD pacemaker for Polymorphic VT & Sinus Pauses October this year.  Before that all happened my partner & I were going to try for a baby (his 1st, I've 2 children from a previous marriage). Obviously we have put this on hold for now but I was wondering if any of you here have got pregnant whilst also having a device? ...what concerns me more is I've been put on statins and aspirin, as well as betabblocker, as I suffered 2 TIAs after my ICD. Statins espec...

Mitral regurgitation

Anybody have regurgitation?   Just found out echo results today which includes moderate regurgitation.   Have an appt. in a few weeks and will find out more then but wondering how concerned I should be where it's moderate.   It's probably a pretty common thing though.   Love...

Off topic: Got questions about asthma.

I was diagnosed with asthma about the same time I was diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome--an occurance I've since learned isn't that unusual. For a long time, very low doses of Dulera seemed to keep the asthma under control. Lately though, I've begun to suspect some of my "heart" symptoms are really asthma symptoms.

I'd like to do a better job sorting everything out and being proactive about the asthma, but while there's lots and lots of gene...

PAC'S

After my AV node ablation I've beong experiencing more PAC's which are showing up on my PM checks. Was on Bisoprolol but started to develope an atrial tachycardia which the consultant thinks was triggered by the PAC's or a focal point caused by previous ablation scaring.Changed to Flecainide initially felt "quieter" bit the PAC's occur when I start to push my HR up and are happening more frequently, and give me palpation symptoms, probably triggering off the AT again<...

New to Club

I am new to this site.  I am scheduled to have an ICD-CRT placed on the the 7th of December.  I was diagnosed in May of this year with Dilated Cardiomyopathy.  I am 67 years old.  At that time my ejection fraction was 15%.  Because my blood pressure runs low, the Dr was unable to titrate the medicine that he felt would be helpful for me and I'm still coping with a low ejection fraction of 20%.   My question is this:  I seem to always be in a br...

SVT

Just saw my cardiologist this morning. After my PM remote check last month it is showing some SVT during the time I am walking and exercising. He is suggesting I start a low dose of a Beta Blocker to help control them. I am going to wait and see what the next report shows in 2 months.

Can anyone tell me if you are taking a Bata Blocker what side affects do you have and did it help with the SVT?

Thanks, Kay

VVI modus pacing and heart failure, HELP!

Dear all,

5 months ago i got my first (biventriculair)PM. A Boston Scientific, Visionist. 4 months ago i got my av node ablation. Everything went well. The last couple of days i've read a couple of scary stories about vvi pacing en the development of heart failure. How realistic is this? Im 39 years old.

I knew, when the doctors would let me walk around with my rythm disorders, i eventually would develop heart failure. No one said how long it should take for me to develop it....

The Drug Entresto

Since I have the combined issues of paroxysmal A-Fib, & Heart Failure (I'm an A-V Node ablated dude) - my PM is equipped with an ICD.  Cardio Doc. wants me to try Entresto.  My LVEF was 18% 5 years ago - my 1.5 to 2.0 hrs. everyday exercise regime has raised my EF to around 25%.  Anyone have any comments regarding Entresto?

Heart Disease & NSAIDS..read this & Thread Below

I just read thread below this, wondering what VIMOVO was.  Thread did not tell me, so Googled it.  I was shocked!  Vimovo is Naproxsin (aka Naprosyn) & Nexium combined in same pill.  I copied URL for article I read:  https://www.ncnp.org/journal-of-medicine/1403-heart-disease-and-nsaids-a-recipe-for-disaster.html.

If you already knew of the dangers of mixing NSAIDS & Heart disease, pass on by - nothing here to see.  If you didn't, join me...

Do I need a pacemaker

I have been diagnosed with Sinus Bradycardia.  I am 70 year old male. I am 5'-10" around 207 pounds. My resting heart beat is around 47 bpm, while sleeping it may go as low 37 bpm.  I do not seem to be  having any symptoms. I walk a little over a mile and a third  five or six times a week.   When I do moderate exercise my heartbeat will go to 100 or so, during extreme exercise it will get into the 150 bpm range.  My doctor has suggested a...

Any Brits having trouble getting an MRI scan?

After 2 and a half years of waiting, I finally had an MRI scan this week, at Barts Hospital in London, for an investigation into an unrelated condition.  It's a long story as to why it has taken so long, but part of the delay has been a reluctance on the part of MRI departments, even at some of London;s major hospitals, to do a scan on somebody with a pacemaker.

As you know, with a pacemaker we have to be careful about interferences, and even though my pacemaker is "MRI co...
