More problems

Hi. I recently posted a message regarding my heart pausing despite I have dual chamber pacemaker for wenkebach 2nd degree heart block. My pacemaker has been readjusted to stop the pausing... That seems to be fixed... Last night I had to spend all night in A and E as my heart is going quite fast  123 bmp in broad complex something or other.. Whilst this continued for 4 hours I felt so dizzy and so out of breath... My ecgs looked like massive wide mountains... I just don't know what is...

Question to ask

I have had a pacemaker for about 2yr 4m. Reason they put it in was heart rate of 30 when exercising. Last 8 months a drop in my ability to exercise. A hill of  2/10 of a mile that I could walk to the top of without stopping,12 months ago, I must now stop and rest two or three times. So my cardiologist sent me for a nuclear medicine stress test. Preliminary results no blockage, but a drop in my ejection fraction to 36% from about 50%,when the pacemaker was put in. I am very worried about...

Cardiopulmonary exercise test

Does anyone have experience with this test? We are waiting for the results for my mom and I am so, so nervous. The cardiologist described it as a “branch point” for deciding whether to go the transplant route.

I am so so confused because she just got her crt-d a couple of months ago so I’m kind of like shouldn’t we at least give it a chance to work before talking transplant? She hasn’t even started cardiac rehab yet. It just all feels lik...

What next?

Well I had my Nuclear Medicine stress test last Friday. Doctor called with the results. Told me I had no blockage. There was a wakening of my heart. My Ejection Fraction was 36%, two years ago it was normal about 50%. He wants to do an echocardiogram to get more information next week. Said I could continue with my hiking and bike riding, let my body tell when to stop or rest. Might have Cardiomyopathy. I just do not understand, two years ago I had this pace maker put in because my heart was b...

GERD and PM

hellow fellow pacers.  I need help finding info on non-medication treatments for GERD. I had to fire my gastro.  She simply ignored my reminding her I was a PM patient when she referred me for Linx surgery for the GERD and I reminded her it was not safe for PM's.  The Linx website says is contraindicated in PM patients. She could have read it herself if she didn't believe me.  Sigh.  I am keeping my appt. w/ surgeon to ask him about other options but feel I...

Seeing spots ( a little long)

Before I was first diagnosed, I had so much trouble with seeing black spots that I mentioned them to my optometrist. She dismissed them as "floaters." I wasn't so sure. Unlike typical floaters they didn't float accross or up and down in my field of vision. They seemed to be stationary black dots on top of whatever direction I was looking in.They might appear and disappear in tenths of a second, or linger, but never for more than a second or two. Then different ones...

Teach me new tricks!

Hiya! So I’ve been in the pacer game for a few minutes and feel like I understand enough about how it all works.

Today we found out my dad is most likely going to need a defibrillator. In January he has his second open heart along with a mechanical mitral valve replacement. He was still having issues that mimicked a lot of mine and I mentioned I thought they should put him on a 30 day halter monitor. They did. It caught him in V-Tach at 300bpm.

Today they got him in wit...

Neurocardiogenic syncope and pacemaker

Hi! I've had my dual chamber Medtronic pacemaker for one month today. I had it implanted due to neurocardiogenic syncope and Mobitz type 2 AV blocks. I've forever had episodes of pre syncope when eating bulky food, getting symptoms whenever I swallow a big piece of bread, for example. When I wore the monitor for a week, I would push the button whenever I felt this but my EP says nothing was happening with my heart when I pushed the button. Instead, there were other times I was experie...

Biotronic Pacemaker

Has anyone received a Biotroic closed loop pacemaker for maligant neurocardiogenic syncope.   Has it prevented fainting.   My doctor has told me there's roughly an 80% success rate.  My last faint 2 weeks ago I awoke, had enough time to tell my husband I was going to faint, fainted, had a seizure, and projectile vomited while unconscious.   EMS came and my heart rate and Blood pressure were all over, including heart dips into the teens.   wondering if...

CHF and Digestion issues

So my mom has Chf and recently got fitted with a crt-d. Day by day she’s been getting better, able to walk more, better color, etc.

About 3 days ago she woke up nauseous, vomited, felt better, and went about her day. But then yesterday it happened again, twice. And again today. Seems to be early in the morning (it wakes her up), several hours after she eats. It’s like whatever she eats doesn’t seem to get digested too well. She also gained some water weight the p...

So much anxiety (Tilt-Table-Test etc.)

Good afternoon from the UK, lovely people!

I’m so sorry I’m pestering you once more again, especially since I don’t even have a PM and for all I know, may never actually have one.

I’m so eternally grateful I’ve been referred to an Electrophysiologist, however, with a confirmed date for my Tilt-Table-Test, anxiety is really setting in big time now.

I’m worried I fail it/don’t pass out and nothing c...

New ICD and still symptomatic, please help!

Hello! I'm new here and glad to see that people have a place here to ask questions! On 1/29/18, I received a biventricular ICD to treat my dilated cardiomyopathy.  My EF was around 20%.  The doctor was unable to complete the procedure, so the 3rd lead was not implanted and I have an appt with another doctor next month.  Of course, I am very disappointed that this long process is still not over for me. Anyway, initially, I was feeling as if I were breathing better, but for t...
