Hi... I just wanted to ask I have had my PM since Oct 09
and once in awhile I still get the short of breath business
I have had my PM read over the phone and in person
and they say all is well... however I am wondering if I need to have the PM interrogated again? Dual PM for low pulse is why I had to get one of these....other then that I am good to go
so just wondered if anyone had SOB and had the PM adjusted for that? I am not on any meds and only take vitamins.

I have a 2 wire pace-maker and its not helping too much. So my Cardio mentioned a third wire lead to help my heart work better. I can't do much I get so tired, gain water weight, and feel like I have anemia. All I do is sit in my chair or do some tasks but just doing some laundry wears me out. I also have depression and anxiety.
How safe is this sugery? I am scared and any info would be helpful. The two wire pacemaker is already in. However,he said they will add a third wire to...

I've been to my first checkup after getting a PM 14th December. It turns out I have much more A-fib than expected, 28 of 31 days, I had fibrillation for more than 4 hours. Four incidents of A-fib lasted for 96 hours.
I'm really feeling much better. I read my pulse with a sports watch, and my pulse confirms my feeling of getting better each week. But the PM report doesn't confirm the improvement.
Except from the frequent Afib, my first checkup was OK. On my doctors advice,...

Who out there has atria problems, has had an av node ablation making them pacemaker dependent. TraceyE I think we are "sisters". I want to have some discussions about how you feel afterwards, mode you are in, and meds you are taking.
For me I am feeling miserable. I can feel it when my atrial rate goes over my set rate which then puts you into essentially a 2:1 block. I get short of breath the moment this starts. I can make it up a flight of stairs and then have to sit down....

Thanks to Frank and Pacemakerwriter for your kind and professional help. I feel very grateful; Im not alone to go through this issue. The third day and the firth day after my operation, I wrote to the Medtronic company, a gentlemen could say nothing and tell me to ask my doctor again and again. I felt hopeless. Finally I find the pacemakerclub; I read a lot of kind and thoughtful letter that made me tearful, this is the where I can rely on.
Im live in Canada Ontario. We dont have the i...

A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well known cardiligist in his shop. The cardioligist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc want to take a look at this?" The cardiologist, a bit surprised walked over to where the mechanic was working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, " So Doc, look at this...

It doesn't seem like 48 hours ago I was leaving surgery. All it going great. Last night I woke about 3:00AM and found I had rolled over onto the pacemaker side. I don't know how long I had been that way, but from the sheet wrinkles on my skin it had been a least an hour or two. No pain or problems from it and I went back to bed til 7:00.
This morning I worked for around 2 hours in the yard cleaning out a drainage ditch ahead of our incoming rainstorm here in Calif. I was swinging a we...

Thank you to Cabbage Patch f or your response. I have had all the gastric tests, including a 24 hour ph manometry which showed everything to be normal. Therefore my Cardiologist says carry on as usual, but if I have a bad attack of Angina to drive 43 miles to his Hospital to be checked!!!!!!! Sorry I prefer immediate treatment at our local hospital ,if I am that sick. I have been admitted twice for severe Angina (Variant) but seem to do very well using Calcium channel Blockers.
Thanks...

On Dec. 23, 2010 I was at the grcery store. I felt alittle lightheaded & stopped moving. My defib fired once. Scared me big time!!! I'm, needless to say, alittle nervous now..Has anyone else been shocked & how long did it take to start relaxing again?

Hi Folks, I received a sling to put on at bedtime after my surgery after receiving a PM on December 28th. I, however, neglected to ask how long I should wear it. I am still using it and it does (most of the time) keep my arm from going where it is not supposed to be. Should I keep using it until a month passes? It has been a little over two weeks now and I still have some discomfort which has not decreased for a few days. I know it takes time but some days I just do not have any energy or...

I had my 6 month check up in the doctors office yesterday. I had the best technician (a lady) I have ever had in the 7 years of having my pacemaker. She took the time to go through all my settings, explained what the ment and why it was set the way it was. She also answered all my questions and explained them in language I could understand. Hope I get her again, I know I will request her. I though I was going to need my pacemaker replaced this year but found out that I still have about 24 months...

I had a Medtronic pacemaker implanted one week ago.
The second day of operation, I woke up after midnight I had been hearing and feeling heavy, thudding heart beats on my left front chest just under the implanted pacemaker, the rate was around 62 per minute. That made me hard to fall into sleep, when I got up the beating becomes undetectable.
The third daytime I experienced the same beatings during a nap and a walking. I thought I had to get used to it, some day it would go away. H...

I started effexor over a month ago. I started off on 75 mg while I weaned off of my other antidepressant. 2 weeks ago I went up to 150mg. THe past few days I have noticed my blood pressure going up. Today I have the most outrageous headache and my blood pressure is 160/100. The doctor said only about 2% of people develope high blood pressure from this med. I do have a history of high blood pressure but been quite controlled. Anyone had similar response? I did NOT want to go on the medica...

Hi...new to this! Thanks for making the site available! I have a dual chamber Biotronik pacer and am now a little scared to have it replaced in 2012 based on your disclosures of personal experiences with the product. Mine was placed after a complete heart block emergency and I was not given a choice or time to research the products. Still, I am grateful to be alive.
