wireless computer

Has anyone heard of any problems with lap-tops running on battery and with a wireless connection causing any problems.
I was sitting with mine on my lap last night and felt an unusual hot flushing feeling on the side of my implant and up into my neck and face. Perhaps it was just coincidence?
Went away after I stopped using the lap top on battery.
The little wireless connection is on the same side as the pm.

new med to come on the market soon

A new medication Multaq will be coming on the market within the next several months. It will take the place of Amiodarone for many people. Amiodarone is an effective drug but has several long terms very serious side effects. It seems that Multaq will not have the same side effects and all the trials point to it as being as effective as Amidarone. Good news for those taking that drug.

Strange Sensations

Hi-

I would love to know if anyone has had the following symptoms:

My history: Had a pacemaker implanted August 2008 after several fainting episodes. It was diagnosed that I probably had congenital heart block.

A month after I had the pacemaker installed, I moved to London for a new job. This year has been up and down healthwise, I would get infrequent bouts of atrial tachycardia, which induced vague panic sensations.

But since May, I've been having t...

Fireworks

One would think that while watching fireworks that I would keep my wits about me since I do have a dual pacemaker. My goodness, that is not true at all. What in the heck was I thinking???

My hubby and I were at the street party held just next door to us. We were each having such a good time watching all the fireworks displays. The fireworks were of medium intensity and very nice. Then out came the BIG ONES. The first one went off without any problems at all. It was beautiful and high...

battery dying

My mother has decided not to get a new battery in her PM. She is 92 and has made her mind up. I am asking if anyone knows what symptoms I should look out for. She was told that her battery was low 6 mos. ago. she has had this one into her 9th year. Her other one lasted 8 yrs. The one before -4 yrs. She also has had one lead not working for many, many years. She has gotten quite weak lately and seems depressed. Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks for listening.

Pacemaker shorting out??

I have recently had a problem--possibly caused by a short in the line or unit of my St. Jude pacemaker. I have tingling and "paralyzing" feelings on my skin surface on my left side back shoulder area, and my left neck and under ear. I do have a problem with my cervical vertebrae from time to time on C-1 and C-2. However, if I have the skin feelings, and if I put my magnet up to the pacemaker (approved) for 30-45 seconds, the tingling feelings go away. I can also get rid of the feelings if I...

2nd surgery in 5 months

Hi.

I'm 4 days post op from my 2nd pacemaker surgery in 5 months.

It was a side insertion and this time they had to move it inside my pec muscle, make a pocket and sew it in place. To quote the Dr...they had to go deeper, and use much more force than expected! Great...yet again - not a simple procedure.

The recovery seems to be better than the 1st op, but the pain is a whole new world of pain!
Everything seems to be doing ok, but i guess it'll be a slow...

Now I'm a real club member!

Hi everyone,
Had my pm implanted Thursday. Kept in 24 hours and no problems, (other than sciatica....bad timing!!)
My cardio put it on my left side as I play top level croquet here and we thought that would suit my sport better as I'm a right hander. It is a St Jude Zephyr dual lead, set at 70 and 120. I really don't feel much different, just a bit faster pulse.
Thanks for all the great information and support I received from the members of this special club. It really made a diff...

**Whoa** when they play with the settings

Had my settings "played" around with yesterday for the first time and it was like " WHOA! " short of breath and quite ill feeling. The nurse said if you get that feeling again come back to the clinic as this is the symptoms of Pacemaker syndrome.
**Do any of you get that feeling during your checkup when they fiddle with the settings? ***

I was in DDDR and the cardiologist requested it be changed to AAI mode but the Pacemaker nurse felt I wasnt quite ready as I developed 2nd degr...
