It's me again!
I just posted yesterday about the strange feelings that I have been experiancing. Well, now I am really frustrated.
Again, let me remind you that I am very sensative to pacing, so I can distinguish my natural heart beat from one that is initiated by my pacemaker. All day today while up and moving around, my heart was working without the assistance of my pacemaker, staying aroung 80 bmp. During these times, I was extemely light headed, dizzy, and nauseous. My blood pressu...
Keep getting "thumps" in my chest
Well- I received my ICD on June 2nd so I guess I am now 3 wks post implant (seems much longer). Ever since then I have these "thump" feelings in my left/middle chest behind my sternum. Like someone tapped me with one of those rubber reflex hammers- not painful but very noticable. There are usually 2 or 3 right in a row. I don't have them every day but sometimes it is several days in a row. I had them Sat, then Monday & Tues this week.
I never had any documented arrythmia and they...

Hello to all whom are on this wonderful site. My sister who has been diagnosed with having high blood pressure and is being treated has now found out that she's pregnant with not just one baby but two. She's having twins and she had to change her blood pressure medicine to Metoprolol 100 mg once a day. My question to you is, does anyone know of being pregnant and having to take blood pressure medicine such as Metoprolol succer 100 mg. Does anyone have any input on taking this medicine with...

A few days ago there was a posting reguarding Amioderone and a person's concern about the side effects. I made a couple of responses and then thought to go through my list of book marked pages. Since I take Amioderone and was so worried about the side effects along with all the other drugs I take, I did alot of research. The following URL is for a study titled; Evidence-Based Analysis of Amiodarone Efficacy and Safety. The URL is http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/100/19/2025

I'm a little over a year with my Medronics pacemaker for bradycardia. It's been fabulous once you get over the initial anxiety issues but recently I have been having strange experiences.
They only happen in the evening while trying to get to sleep and only when laying on one side ot the other. They give me an internal feeling like I'm flushing and feeling like I took a fast elevator ride down but they are inside of my chest area, no pain, no other sensations. They start in small spurts and...

Well, I had my first device check after my early May PM implant.
I shared the concern that after I exercise (4 mile run-45 minutes), I feel 'out of whack' for a day or two. I get SOB and my HR jumps up very quickly with the slightest activity. I also asked why the rate response was turned on when I had AV block and to my knowledge no issues with my Sinus node. After my tech called the Medtronic engineer and my EP, they decided to turn Rate Response off.
After work, I g...

I had my second sinus node modification three weeks ago tomorrow. I have been suffering with the discomfort from the ablation, but other than that I have been doing really well. The ablation was done because I was diagnosed with IST (inappropriate sinus tachycardia). I was very symptomatic to the IST and before the ablation I would faint regularly.
I have had three episode that have really scared me over the last few days, but I'm not sure what to think of them. First of all, let me tell yo...

Well Hello my fellow pacers.
Today my Cardio docs nurse called to check on me, to bascially see how I am doing and if I had any questions. So I took the time to ask her if she knew what type of PM I was receiving this thursday. She stated that I would be receiving a Medtronic Dual Chamber Sigma DR. That it has Rate Response in it so I can cont to do the things I love. So I'm like ok, and she stated that I must use the Surgical scrub to bath before bed and once I wake up the day before surge...

Hello friends! I'm not asking for comments or anything of that nature, because I get really embarassed. But today I turn 14!!! I must not forget that my pm deserves a salute also, or I would not have come this far. Speaking of pacemakers, mine turns 14 today too! I think it's fun to walk around saying 'it's my birthday and my anniversay!' Then people look at me and say 'you're too young to be married.' Then I explain the situation to them and their eyes get real big and whatever else people do w...

Saw the GP today about the suspected stitch. It turns out that it is a stitch, and he thinks it is probably attached to more beneath the skin.
He went out of the room and came back with 2 pairs of scissors and a bunch of gauze (the stitch is well covered by skin and he was going to pry it out). He casually said, "it will probably come out on its own if you leave it". So I must admit I chickened out, and told him I'd rather wait for them to come out by themselves. I thought I'd had en...

Maybe someone here can lend some insight...I know some of you are in the medical profession!
When I had my pm implanted, I came down with a nasty tape rash after the steri-strips were removed. I'm allergic to the adhesive on steri-strips. Well, I just had the steri-strips removed last Tuesday from the wounds on my stomach from my gallbladder surgery and got a tape rash at all the incision sites. Went back to the doc today and got a stronger cream and antihistamine to get over it....

My husband had blood work last week to determine if he has Congestive Heart Failure and we, of course, haven't heard any results yet. Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday?
Does anyone here have CHF and if so what is being done for the condtion?
He also has atria fib but actually doesn't feel when it is happening. It shows up just about everytime he as EKG.That is how the cardiologist found it.
He has been under the cardiologist's care for 3 years now.
Thank...

Hello Everyone.
It's " moi " again. I found this interesting pacemaker information, that could be useful to many of you, ( including me, ) for future reference.
You might want to bookmark it, for the next time you need an answer to a question, or to make a list of questions to ask to your own doctor.
I found it very informative, and thought I would share it with all of you.
Cheers!

Hey guys, what's up? Alright, so I was reading about hackers trying to get inside our little high tech friends for our social security numbers, and I just thought, 'wow, we just haven't put up with enough so now people are going to make it worse.' For crying out loud, let's just see how much more suffering we have to go through.
But people don't care now a days, they are just so inconsiderate (not everyone, there are some halfway decent people out there :)). I told my mom about it and said...

I just received my 1st PM 3 days ago. Since then, I periodically have quick sharp pains in my heart (4 one a scale of 1-10). Usually it is when I get up and increase my activity, but not always. The doctors and nurses each said that it is not a common complaint, but they can understand that my heart is adjusting to the leads and to call if it gets worse. Did any of you experience anything this? It would just give me peace of mind to know it is to be expected, but it seems not to be the cas...

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
