Thanks for sharing your dreams (nightmares) with me. Once again it is good to know I am not alone and not going 'nuts'! Going to have a go at the affirmation before I go to sleep - thanks for that.
Re medication, I am not on a heart meds and my blood pressure meds haven't be altered since my PM and I've been on them for years - amlodopine, lisinopril, indapamide plus an aspirin. My BP is well controlled at the moment. So I do think it is anxiety related and this is also affecting...

I have got a lot of e-mails asking if I am ok, I am doing. I am still externaly paced and that causes every beat to come with pain. Currently both of my leads are not working and getting a DR to fix me was difficult. I was transfered to a different hospital yesterday and am still waiting to be fixed. I have a post that I need some help with.
I have talked with many of you in the chat room would like to ask for your help again. I am a deaf young woman who knows very few people in the...

August of 2007, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure(EF-25%) this was after about 4 month with the doctors thinking and treating me as if I had asthma. Wow do I wish this could be treated with just an inhaler...lol. In December 2007, I received a Bi-ventricular Pacemaker/Defibrillator. I am 36 years old and was looking for some support and ran across this website. It has not been the best 3 months with the implant; I have had to go back for surgery 2 more times because my leads con...

There are some observed contradictions from my doc and his pacemaker staff about weight training post PM. My doc has always said that I could do 'pretty much anything I wanted to after 2 months. I am now at 12 weeks. The pacemaker nurses tell me not to do anything overhead like presses or pull downs. When I asked the doc he said it was OK but don't do anything real 'heavy'. He also told me that he had placed the PM taking into consideration my 'active' routine. He said the leads are under the co...

Hello all.
I was looking for some information in response to pacemakers and wireless laptops, when I came across this article.
I debated as to whether I should post it, as in the past, some articles have caused some to panic.
I decided that in this day and age, you can't be too careful, and knowledge is power.
So, please just read it carefully, as well as the comments made by people who have already read what you are about to read.
May be you already know about it...

Does this mean that if you are pacing at 100% in your top chamber that there is no electrical pulse between the upper and lower chambers does that constitute a thied degree heart block?
I am pacing at 75% in top atrium due to dual lead out pacing afib which is intermitent but now controlled at under 1% by beta blockers
Does this mean I will go on to 100% top atrium pacing dependancy and if so will that lead to a heart block and then require a defibrillator?

Hello friends,
It's been a little over one year since my pm went in. All is well!!!
I'm 48 and have SSS. I passed out on St. Patricks day. After a trip to the ER they put in a pm because my bpm were in the low 30s. Since that time i have done 2 half marathons and a few shorter races. I'd like to share what I have learned over the past year. I'm fine physically, but it's taken me about a year to believe this. I think it is really critical to understand what is going on and to belie...

Thanks to all of you who posted to my WiFi question. (jessie, it was good to see your post! Thanks!) It's good to know there are no known issues with it. I think it was just me and my Easter dinner hangover. :-) I have been on a diet for ten weeks and totally destroyed it that day. LOL
I love the WIFI and the laptop! tee hee...I am such a geek!!!!
Happy pacing everyone!

Well, I came home from my EP Study on Tuesday night after my doctor was unable to recreate my SVT. She found that my potassium levels were very low, so she increased my dosage of supplemets, and sent me on my way.
I was feeling great on Wednesday, other than being slightly sore and groggy from the sedation, until about bedtime. I got this really heavy feeling on my chest, and I started wheezing. A few moments later, I coughed up a little bit of blood. This continued throughout the night, a...

So 2 nights ago I came on line and found this website through desperation. I cried out with a loud voice for someone to help me and wow I got just what I needed. A group of new friends/ICD -PM family that shared that things are never normal, just a new normal helped me beyond measure. Ela-girl, Swede and Plumber-man were just fabulous in all of their dealings, even Nuka showed up and relented when she saw the team at work. 84 days after my ICD and I've found security in knowing that I have...

I'm just sitting here in the hospital waiting to get ready for my 2nd EP study and ablation for Vtachs. This is a nice hospital, private rooms, couch, recliner, nice.
I've been off my sotalol since sunday night and I feel great, actually. I forgot how bad that stuff makes me feel. Everyone I have talked to since I got off the meds for the procedure comment that I'm a different person.
I'm pretty sure this is going to work, but if not, I'm not going to take sotalol again. If...

Lead to the atrium come adrift

Hi folks. Thanks for reading this. My name is Matt - I'm a professor in engineering at Stanford University. My dad is 78 years old and lives in South Africa. One month ago, he received a pacemaker called Zephyr, Model 5820 IS1, made by St Jude. He's been experiencing ongoing irregularities in his heart beat and it now seems that one lead to the atrium has come adrift. Apparently, this was more likely since he had bypass surgery ten years ago so his atrium is smaller than usual and has scar tissu...
