Anybody get out yet? I will in the next week. Could have been out a few weeks ago but visualized myself in the middle of a big field by myself and creeped myself out! Will not happen again!

I'm one year post pm and have a question. I still find when I walk (like a mile) or carrying anything I get a little SOB. I didn't have that problem before at least not walking on a flat surface. I have a rate responsive pm set at 70/130 and the response is med/low. I think because my hr never increased significantly with activity for years that I would be better off having them switch it to medium/high and the activity acceleeration to 60 sec. Any ideas on this? The other thing I looked at was...

I don't know about anyone else, but I seem to be experiencing problems with the site tonight. I seem to have lost (?) some messages. So if you sent me a message, I have not received it. Weird, one second it was there and then it was gone, then something else appeared and then it was gone. So I am off for the evening. Take care all...
See you tomorrow, God willing,

I'm just curious to find other people who are or have been patients at the heart center at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. I am going back there in another week and would like to know what anyone's experiences have been. So far, I simply love my cardiologist there and he's the kind of doctor I wish every single patient could have! If I could clone him and pass him around, I would!!!
It is a heck of a drive from North Carolina to Ohio but this cardiologist is worth more th...

Good morning. This will be a long-winded question so please bear with me. I work for a company as a concrete truck driver with a West Virginia class B CDL. In January I began passing out and was placed on short-term disability while I found out what was causing the problem. Between January and March 2010 I was in and out of the hospital and my cardiologist discovered that my syncope was happeneing because my heart was basically stopping without warning for as long as 10 seconds at a time. On Mar...

Hi everyone,
I had a 24 hour monitor about 3 weeks ago, because I have been having episodes of tachycardia. Then when I went to see my GP about something different on Thursday, he told me that my cardiologist had sent him a letter asking him to prescribe me bisoprolol. Stupidly, because my mind was occupied with the other matter, I didn't ask to think WHY I'd been prescribed it - when I got home and read the leaflet it said it's for heart failure and angina, but I'm pretty sure I don...

I have only had my pacemaker for a year, I am 30 yrs old. I have SVT and Abrupt Bradycardia. I have gone through 3 ablations, 2 rf ablations and 1 cryoabation. I have always had atrial tachy but now this time when I got my pacemaker checked its showd 7 Ventricular High rate episodes and 0 atrial episodes, is this dangerous? Does this mean I have Ventricular Tachycardia? I have been feeling like I am going to collapse lateley and its a scary feeling. I also had 135 rate drop episodes. I have a r...

If anyone has sent me a PM in the last few weeks and I didn't respond it is because either I didn't receive it or my response didn't send.
One thing I've found is that a goof in typing the spam filter can cause the screen to blink just like an accepted message. It is easy to mix up the letters g and q.

Hi,
I was so happy when Dr said there was no more water ....
BUT he looked at me and said : the PM implant also hurted the stomach ...which does not allow my heart to beat correctly. reason why also I am obliged to yawn to take a big breath as my heart is compressed and can not play its role correctly .
Be positive ... at least I know why I still have difficulty to breath even if there is no more water ...
I just asked the doctor what would be the next issue a...

I went for a "second opinion" today; really it was just a consultation since my parents had not had the chance to talk with my actual cardiologist in VA (I am in NY with my parents for the week) and they wanted an explanation of what was going on.
The doctor office right away did not impress me, the nurses were to hasty and I felt not doing a great job of getting vitals including my blood pressure which is one of the main components linked to my issues. The doctor came in after revie...

Ok, this morning I was wiping down the baseboards waiting for the carpet cleaners to arrive. That in itself is a cardiac workout (the dusting that is) . But then I started sneezing at least 8 times in succession (ahh! I inhaled some of those darn dust bunnies) and started feeling a little weird. Took my pulse, 127! Yikes, the upper limit of my pm is 130..
I think this is a valid reason for my EP to raise that upper limit.LOL!!
Did I make you chuckle just a bit?
advice please

Hi I am new to this site, but not new to the pm. My son Cody had transposition of the great arteries and a vsd and asd @ birth. He had surgery to correct this @ 4 days old. Cody was 6wks premature because he is a twin. Cody ended up with a pm @ 17 days old. Cody is and always has been the more active twin which is funny considering his twin is perfectly healthy. I find it very hard to keep Cody from being an active boy. Cody is now 5 and is on his 2nd pacemaker. When Cody was 2 1/2 he br...

Thanks for all the positive vibes! Home Health Care nurse came this am to set up IV meds (my husband will do it after today) and the nurse will come about once a week for labs, etc.
I really do know that I will feel better, but when you don't feel good it seems like forever, right? I know so many of you are or have been there, too, so I'm glad we have each other to rely on. None of my friends have PMs, although they have had their share of stuff, too, but this is different. I can really id...

Ok, for the first time in 2 weeks, I was able to venture out to the supermarket walking. It's about 8-10 blocks, I was worried most of the time that either the PM will kick in or the ICD will shock me! Nothing happened, the only thing that happened was when I got back, I was sweating, maybe from the panic attack that I had just walked that long.
The scar tissue is hurting me right now, since some of my skin around the area was sweaty! I have always been a big sweat-er, so I am not to...

Dear friends,
Hopefully I will have the diagnosis tomorrow morning at the clinic when it comes to the pericarditis after 3 weeks of treatment and more than two months of ... breath difficulty.
I am sure, and thanks to all your support through this site, my wish would be at least that there will be less water all around my heart !!!!
I wish you all a very nice and relaxing week end,
warm regards from Chrissie

I had been swimming up until sev. months before I got the PM - three workouts a week averaging over 2000 meters each. Am concerned about swimming again as the freestyle stroke involves a huge amount of upper chest stretching and rotation. Are there any swimmers out there with a PM who went back to vigorous swimming?
Life insurance policies after pacer?

What has been anyone's experience with trying to get a life insurance policy issued to them once they were implanted with a pacemaker? I applied for a $500K amount back in January of this year and as of April 1st, I still hadn't heard from the company. When I called the agent, he told me the company was still reviewing my medical file.
In anticipating that I will be implanted soon, I wanted to get a life insurance policy amount that would take care of the educational costs for my...
