heart pain

Hi

My 13 year old daughter had a pacemaker inserted two months ago and has recently experienced two short instances of stabbing pains around her heart. A week before this she experienced breathlessness and was dizzy at schhol - the weather was very hot at the time. The GP and hospital x- rayed her and did an ECG and said that the pacemaker was working fine andit was most likely to be casued by losing a breath and then getting an anxiety attack. The sharp pains in the heart area are...

Just Found Out

Well I am 15 and I just found out that I might be getting a pacemaker. I have quite a few questions.

First how bad is the pain after the surgery?

Second how noticable will the pacemaker and scar be?

and Third how long will it be before I am feeling back to my old self with no pain?

Whew.... what a trip!

I've often wondered if my Pacermaker would be able to keep up with me when my spirit of adventure took over and I began to live again.

On June 1st and 2nd I was hospitalized because I had become very confused and dizzy. After 2 days of endless test for everything one can imagine It was determined that I was having a huge problem with medications. I was released and slowing the symptoms went away.

I flew to Washington D.C. on Wed. June 10. I was able to take myself into th...

Pacemaker Protection Device

I just received a pacemaker a couple days ago for SSS. I was told by the doctor to not play any contact sports. I love soccer and basketball and would be VERY depressed to give them up. I'm having a very difficult time feeling like I have to rethink of myself as 'fragile' now. Should I just ignore the 'fragile' feeling and live my life as normal? I guess my question is this. What copeing methods have you all used to deal with this? I found the site paceguard.com and my wife is already orde...

It's almost been a year since I've stumbled upon this place. I say that literally because I was rather stumbly back then. Now I can run.....(on good days....lol) P.S.....I still got a long way to go.

Ya'll have helped me with the many questions that us "newbies" have, even before I got my pacemaker. I don't know what I would have done without this place to help ease me in my...

Ruesado here, and thanks for all of the info on pacemakers.
Went to VA hospitol in Atlanta and found out from young and studly doctor that I was too young for a pacemaker, 49.
I still have Afib.
So what is Ablation and Mini- maze?
What can I do, how much exercise can I try to acomplish?
Would riding a bike across the state of Ga. be out of the question?

Incision Healing

Hi, I had my pacemaker implanted on May4. For the most part my incision healed up great. The end 1/8" where they bring the neddle out has still not healed up completely. My doctor says it is fine and will heal with time. The rest of it had the self disolving stitches so I had no problems with it. How long should it take for that one part to heal up completely? Is it better to add something like polysporin on it to keep it moist or to just leave it dry?

Thanks
Stacey

Erratic heart rate

This is going to sound strange, so please bear with me.

Today I had a very stressful meeting, which resulted in me losing my job. Obviously, I was very worried and distressed, but when I was waiting for the result of the meeting, I noticed that my heart rate was being very erratic. It would go from being extremely fast, then pause for 2 or 3 seconds before 'thumping' and beating more regularly. Do you think this is anything to worry about, or is it natural? If it was natural, it could...

Isuues with dizziness and balance

Hello Everyone,

I've had my pacemaker for nearly a year now, and I have some issues. Most days , I feel pretty good, and am able to perform activities without trouble. There are some days though, that I just feel out of it, sometimes dizzy. I work a retail job, and it is fast-paced, and can be very stressful. I'll be running around, helping customers etc. when my energy will just drop off. I feel tired, and slightly dizzy.

Yesterday, we started wearing headsets to respond...

Basically I have some "issue" with my heart that it beats really slow, like 24 bpm when awake, or stops all together causing me to pass out, like while driving....oh ya it happened, I call it lazy heart...the doctor calls it something really long and annoying, so I got the pacemaker. I was realy young and didn’t have insurance and now am...

Has anyone had rejection problems?

Hello,
It has been 6 months since my pacemaker went in. Other than itching around the scar it seems healed. I have had a lot of problems with tingles, pulses and strange sensations in my arms, legs and feet since an adenozine stress test in February. I am curious if I could be having some autoimmune things with my body not liking the foreign object in me? has anyone had any similar things going on? Thanks for the support, it is good to know you all are out there.

placement

Hi<

I am brand new to this site! I have to have my ICD repositioned soon..... it is under my pectoral muscle and continually moves and puts pressure on the wires! And, it is painful. :( My doctor who is very well experienced wants to reloctate it under my breast with a possible breast impant over it beacause I am so tiny. I am 38 and am not having more children. Apparently it will be much more secure there. Has anyone ever heard of this??????? I would LOVE feedbacck!!!!!
