Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on this. I recently went to the hospital for tests due to chest pains and feelings of passing out in the middle of the night. This would often wake me up in the middle of the night and scare me so badly that I had to go in. I had a and ECG done, blood test, x-rays, echocardiogram and a 24 hour Halter moniter done and apparantly everything came back normel. The doc told me that my dual chamber Pacemaker looked fine and that I...

Hello everyone, I have not been on the site for a long time which must mean that Im feeling good. However, yesterday I was at my in-laws farm and I grabbed the electric fenced and got one hell of a shock. It hurt and it scared me. I felt good afterwards, but last night I woke up feeling a little wierd and then today at work I had a couple of dizzy/faint spells. I'm just concerned that I may have damaged something inside. I have an appointment on Thursday to get things checked out. Has anyone els...

I have a question-I am a runner, had my pm put in Dec 08. I have a dual pm due to a very slow heartrate. What should I expect as far as recovery time. I am running but I am slower and I quess I expected to be back to speed by now.
They also turned off my regulator-is this common? I guess I am just trying to figure out what is reasonable. Thank you for any help you can give me on this.

Well, so far so good, and no fast heart rhythms. I'm not going to just lounge around and wait for them to return. If they do come back, I'll deal with it then.....I'm going to get busy in the mean time.
For right now, I'm going to start another round of 5k training in hopes of participating in the one I signed up for in September.
It's not going to be easy at first, because I'm still getting used to being paced the majority of the time, and I'm out of shape. All of my life I've had ext...

I am in desperate need of a new doctor. I am seeing a doctor now that I am not very happy with, and I was planning on going back to see my original EP at the end of this month. I got a letter in the mail a few days ago informing me that she is taking a medical leave of absense for an undetermined period of time.
I have developed new arrrhythmia's since my last ablation in November, and my current doctor doesn't seem to know what to do with me at this point.
I am willing t...

Hi Everyone - Tomorrow will be 8 weeks since my pacemaker implant. I rode my horse yesterday for the first time since my operation and it was wonderful! I had help lifting my western saddle up on his back, and I am still being careful about using my left arm too much, but once I was up on him, everything went well, and it was a mental (as well as physical) triumph for me. I am 60 years old, and still pretty darn healthy, despite it all :-)
I had posted about 3 weeks after my pacemake...

I'd like to take a moment to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful women here who have taken time to "Mother me".
Thank you for all the times you have given me direction, given me advice when I needed it and have told me the truth when no one else could or would. Thank you each and everyone for caring enough about me to help me when I needed it the most.
May you each have a blessed day!
Happy Mother's Day,

Hi there
Does anyone have any advice regarding the use of toning tables...those wonderful machines ( electrically powered ) that tone up your muscles while you lie back and think of whatever ?
I have a dual chamber pacemaker and I am currently trying hard to lose weight. I would like to join my friends who are planning to use toning tables.
I am concerned there "could be" interference from the machines and/or I could risk damaging the PM leads or cause some more...

Hi there, I have a lot of arrhythmia's (a.fib, VT, and tons of ectopics) and my ep has prescribed fleicanide (tampacor), for the VT. The problem is even though I am very sob and get a lot of chest pain, I cannot get past my fear of this medication. I realise implanting a pacer is a big deal, but I feel less anxious about this than the meds. I have been struggeling with this decision for about 16months.
Does anyone have any opinion on fleicanide V pace-maker/ICD.
Any advice or...

hi folks, a few weeks ago i posted on here after what appeared to be my body rejecting my device.
I've currently got a large abcess like "bump" on my scar and my cardiologist has put me on Flucoxacillin (think thats how you spell it) for 2 weeks then i've to report back in a month.
As well as feeling absolutely fine, he reckons i'll need to get the device replaced and put in my right side. Anyone had this before ?
I've read some of the posts about lead removal (mines will need to...

I recently relocated to New York City and my cardiologist from home did not have any specific recommendations for a doctor here. I was wondering if anyone on here could recommend a cardiologist/electrophysiologist in the NYC area.
Thanks!

so I got my CRT pacemaker last August took some 6 months to get used to it. Just came back from a weeks holiday. A bit tired. We passed all the hospitals I had on my list just in case my pm needed anything done. To avoid salty restaurant food we rented a holiday home instead of hotels did our own cooking. The whirlpool was nice to relax but with a pm it feels different so I did not go as often as I would have done before having a pm. My home monitor travelled with me. As long as I can travel I w...

it sad that the reason I am taking pain pills is not where I had surgery

I just wanted to send out a word of encouragement to those wondering if there life will ever get back to where it was before their PM implant: Today I competed in the GCT 1/2 Ironman in Panama City Beach, FL. My time was 6 hours 37 minutes.
I do not know the particular situation that surrounds all the PM wearers on this site, but do not quite living...do not quit striving to be the best that you can be.
By the way, my PM was implanted 1 year and 3 months ago!
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.
