You can discover a lot of birthdays by going to the search and typing in birthday list. Hopefully before long we can talk Blake into adding something where it could give us a list on the side of whose birthday is coming up. But the old listed is posted. I would say I have a updated one but when my computer crashed that list also was lost.
Hope this helps some of you!
Blessings,
Tammy

has anyone had an allergic reaction to a pacemaker? i know i'm having an allergic reaction to the glue used over the incision, but just wondering if i could also be having a reaction to the pm........
new Pacemaker
Im 29 and since sept. 26 have been fighting NOT to get a pacemaker implanted. I have a loop recorder in (put in Oct.1st) i had a negative tilt table test, a sound EP study, and i just recieved my results that i dont have sleep apnea. So all my tests are good, but for whatever reason my heart pauses for up to 4-5 secs while im sleewping, several times a night. My heart rate drops to the 30's. So thats why my Doc wants to put in a pace maker. I just keep fighting him on the issue because i thought...
why?

My aunt (85 years old) had a pace maker put in the past Friday, the doctor stated she would go to physical therapy for a couple of weeks, and then go home. On Saturday, she was put in intensive care saying she was dying. Hospice stated she had been in the process of dying for 2 months.
My question, is why would a doctor say she needed a pace maker if she was dying already. She pass yesterday. Less than a week after the pace maker was put in.

Just wanted to say hi. I'm new here. Recieved my PM on feb. 26,2008. I was electricuted across my heart and my doc did a heart monitor implant. In a 3 week period my heart stopped beating 7 times. The longest was for 30 seconds. I'm also young 33 years old, 32 when accident happened. So welcome to the world of the PM. So far so good though. I've been reading alot, but didn't know what to say so I waited. Sounds like there are alot of knowledgeable people here and I wish my doc was this good. Tha...

I love this Doctor
Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster.
Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

Hi Friends,
I have posted previously in the past year. On December 26, I had my 3rd pacemaker inplant. The first was at the age of 36. Friday I turn 54.
This morning I went for my pacemaker check. I have a St. Jude's model. Everything was fine until the nurse told me that I had 2 episodes of very fast beats within the last 3 months. The episodes lasted about 7 seconds.
Tomorrow I will have an echocardiogram to see if anything shows why I had those 2 episodes...

I deleted a few political messages this morning that have stemmed from the US election. Based on past feedback from our members, such topics are best addressed more privately as they tend to distract us from our purpose (i.e. help recipients meet, share information and support each other).
If your message has been deleted, I hope you understand.
Thanks,

Hi Folks,
I'm new one here and am looking for some information.
My mum, now 71, was diagnosed with Stage One heart failure in June 2007. Inside of 12 months, she had progressed to stage 4 heart failure. The consultants were mystified until she was referred to a Prof. Frenneaux in Birmingham, UK. He diagnosed Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and attempted various drug treatments that failed on all counts.
Knowing he was part of a research team that was looking at bive...

Any one had problems using Garmin Heart Monitor.
I am a Marathon Runner and had a PM implant last week. Today I used my Garmin Forerunner 305 Heart Monitor for the first time since the implant. The readings recording are erratic and often intermittent. I had used it often pre-op without a problem and confirmed it is still working ok when my wife used it.
My PM is a Medtronic Kappa 703 dual chamber device.
Can any one recommend a HRM that will work ok with this PM?

I'm hardly ever this way
But I just can't think of anything funny to say
The day light is fading faster
and I still haven't been able to master
getting everything done in one day.
I miss Cabg Patch
I wish he would come back
but understand his reasons,
but laughter is what we lack.
I just keep on pluggin',
my shoulders keep on shruggin'
with the daily grind
trying to keep a peace of mind, I guess.
And then, there's still this hunk...
You know you're wired when...
Friends call you the bionic man.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
