Sotalol not working

Well, the sotalol isn't working either. I am in more pain on the sotalol then I am when I don't take any meds. The doc has set a new appt in one month to "discuss the options". Lovely.

Hi all,
I know some of you have gone through this so I was seeking well not exactly sure right now. I was suppose to have my pm check this past fri in Chicago but had to delay it due to a asthma attack the worse I have had so far having asthma. I am on a lot more drugs to try and keep my lungs functioning to the best of my ability.
I saw my old family Dr back at home in Iowa and he told me that coming back was great but was hard on my lungs b/c of the floods that they had last...

Autumn Walk!

Off I go on this cool afternoon(this past Friday) It's almost fall. Weaving thru the big oak trees...some must be 70 yrs. old. Left, Right, l,r,l,r lenghtening my stride, hearing the click of my pedometer. I am walking west towards the sun to a 8 acre pumpkin patch. Pumpkins everywhere. Hundreds!

I hang a right and pace up the hill. Near the top I pause and enjoy the sunset. Hey guys/gals we're alive!!! How do I know? I check my pulse watch. My pulse is 90.

I now have 9/wk...

attitude

I had a long discussion with my cardiologist today about the way things have been going for me and our last office visit (basically we had it out as we were both frustrated and at a loss as to what to do). He told me a story about a patient that had many medical problems and how she took just a good attitude towards it all. I have come up with a new motto in life and thought I would share it with you all, as we have all had struggles in our lives.

You cannot change what happens to...

Thanks for comments

Thanks to all who gave me feedback on my questions - it has certainly reduced my anxiety!! I think that what I thought was a heart beat or the pacemaker kicking in is, in fact, a nearby nerve being somehow activated. I have noticed that the "beat" comes on in response to certain changes of position of my chest and left arm and will stop fairly quickly if I again change my position. The pain in the wound site is now at the "nuisance" stage and I am no longer reliant on analgesics. However, I...

Medications

Wondering if there are any over the counter medications we should be staying away from? Things that lower heart beats or speed them up? Sudafed comes to mind...

Wondering if it won't matter because the pm would fix it? As many of you noticed ( :-) I am still in the hyper aware stage of my new pm and and afraid to take anything that might cause a little "funkiness."

Palpitations are freaking me out still....trying to come to terms with my new pm and trying to begin to trust...

Wish I could be there

I wish I could be there this weekend. I looked long and hard at my schedule plus still getting over a virus and it just won't work. At least you all won't have to check with your reps to see if Electric Frank would interfere with your pacer!!

I'm signing up spies to keep me posted on what is said about me, or worse yet that nothing is said about me.

Hope someone takes a bunch of pictures to post on the site.

Left Arm/Shoulder Movement?

Hi Folks, I'm now 10 weeks since my pm implant and the swelling/bruising has now gone - neat scar healed well and no side effects! However I would like to know from you guys who have already had this experience - it seems that my arm will only go to certain positions until it won't move any further....it feels like it's restricted under my armpit and often stiff in morning inside my shoulder. I can move it more than I could, yet this is the only thing I have had trouble with. How have you co...

Update and thanks

Greetings,

Just checked my email and I'm encouraged by all of the positive messages. Thank you.

I saw the Pacing Nurse this morning and she still cannot detect what is wrong. She wants to give me a router and have me record what my ICD is doing when I feel icky on the way to work. The problem is that the device I have is so new to this practice, that she does not have any to give me. Even if she did, they have not had training on it. That will not happen until Oct 7th.

Now that I read some comments from members, I am decided to join the club. I'm sorry that I am a very skeptical person to begin with because I was already burned when I tried to join a club and afterwards, I received a bill for my enrolment.
This is now clear to me that it is not the same as I had experienced in the past.
I was attracted to join because I have this palpitation right after it was installed and the doctor told me that it is the outcome of my activities which is not much....

Wierd side effects of PM

I have just had a dual chamber PM inserted 4 days ago. I have noticed that at times I feel something like a "nerve tic" or heart beat located in region of right atrium. It seems like a heart beat or like the PM kicking in, but I was told I wouldn't feel anything when that happened. This feeling comes and goes but is more apparent on exertion and can last for up to an hour. Is this normal? Also, I have had a strange pressure feeling at the back of my throat since the PM insertion, not really...

High Tension wires

Greetings,

I had an ICD put in my chest on Sept 3rd and I am healing well. I returned to work last Thursday and during my 37 mile drive to work I was having chest pressure, light headedness and had to pant to breathe. When I arrived at my desk, co-workers commented that I did not look too good and I explained that I was feeling "shaky". I called the cardio pacing nurse and she had me come to the office in the afternoon.

The rep for Medtronic was in the office at the time...

After joining PM Club about four months ago, I want to thank everyone who "commented" to me over my many, many concerns/worries/questions/etc. Your "comments" were all appreciated over the last few months with your experiences. I knew I had A-fib ~ ~ I have been off/on on whether to "cave in" & take my GP/Cardiologist/EP advise & get a PM ~ You'll helped me with questions I did not ask answers to from my Dr. ~ never wanted to hear the real truth from the Dr's. ~ ~ After going last week to my...

EnRhythm Check

This is my first post, so please excuse me if I am asking something that I am sure has been addressed many times before. I am a Florida resident but live in RI during the summer months. When I had my "incident" which required the implantation of the Medtronics EnRhythm pacer Model P1501DRID, I was in RI and subsequently used a Cardiologist who was on the faculty at Yale New Haven hospital, and had an office in RI.

Medtronics examines my pacemaker in my doctors office in RI. This ye...

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
