Don't Give Up

I started to write the message below as a comment to a question Gracie posted about PVCs, but I got side tracked and just found my unfinished comment. Since Gracie has gotten her question answered and I think of what has happened to me (it is good for a change) with my PVCs, I decided to post it here with the thought it may give hope to some that must be as unimpressed with the results from their pacemaker as I had become. This is long and for that I apologize, but I simply do not know how to...

Hate to say no!!

Hi everyone! I am new today and am the mother of a darling, active 8 year old boy. He was diagnosed with complete HB at 2 and soon implanted with a biventricular, Medtronic pacemaker which was placed in his stomach. He has not skipped a beat - pardon the pun!! He is very aware of his condition but is still very active. He plays a lot of sports including tennis & golf and have really encouraged sports with as little contact as possible. He did not like baseball but has asked to play soccer...

Back to Golf!

Well it's 9/weeks and I'm talking about last Sunday 20th. It's a sunny day, around noon...the seasons in full swing for many and winding down for some(football). No way will football wind the season down for me. Occasional radio and score is all I need. Football 2nd...Golf 1st...sorry Rothliesberger and Steelers, etc..

It's 77 degrees here in Southwestern PA. Nice. Nice breeze. I will break in with my pitching wedge and will attach a small donut type weight to add club weight. My warm...

Great weekend in Tampa

Well, I’m backing my bags and heading back home tomorrow. The weekend social in Tampa was lots of fun. Everyone had a good time and we supported a worthy cause, Heartbeat International, at the same time. Rachel & I are happy to have met so many lovely people (and wired just like me). We will hold the lifelong friendships that we made within our hearts forever.

A special thank you to St. Jude Medical for donating the tickets to the Heartbeat gala event, as well as our speakers at...

It has meant so much to me to actually meet the Pacer Chicks, the Pacer Studs and of course Blake and Rachel. The hotel was gre...

pacergirl's request

Please please please donate a dollar (or more) and spread the word to friends, relatives and ask them to spread the word to friend relatives and so on. Heartbeat International needs a serious grassroots effort to raise funds to save lives. Pretty simple really. Thanx all!!

I am learning so much from you all

Hi Again, I want to say I am learning so much from you all and I am so grateful for finding this group. I wrote last night when I was up about my 2 week old Medtronic Adapta (rate responsing). I appreciate the coupld of feedbacks I already received. A sleep mode was set when I went in for my 1st check up. That was when my trouble with being wide awake at bedtime began. I am thinking I might need to have it turned off.........???

New Pacemaker

Hi Everyone! I am new to the group. I just had my pm impanted 2 weeks ago. It is a Medtronic Adapta. The reason for the impant was bradycardia and I also have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I am excited to have the pacer as this past year has been difficult due to a low heart rate and BP and all the things that go with that and trying to work.

I am eager to get my life back. I am having troubles getting to sleep at night. I am wide a wake when normally I would be sleeping. When...

First ICD Question: Pacing 70% of Time

Hi all: I am a "newbie" who is 62 and had compications from a heart infection and got an ICD on 9/3/09. First checkup yesterday I was told I am "pacing 70% of the time" and next visit "we will optimize so minimize pacing to improve battery life." I was told "pacing" was/is due to tachycardia - fast rhythm - and "your heart is returning pulse to normal on its own." Typically, my pulse is 60 to 64 and "dr" said the "pacer is usually set to about 60 and we will reset it to 40" OR maybe the othe...

Hello from Tampa

We are having a wonderful time!!! The only thing that would make it better was if more of you were here. And maybe the weather could be a bit cooler. Blake did a wonderful job planning this and it's been a pleasure getting to know him and his wife as well as the rest of the pacers.

The weekend started with cocktails around the pool last night. The weather was muggy but the company was terrific. The speakers this morning were simply outstanding!

After breakfast the Pacer Ch...
