Bruises

Now that I have two leads (still attached thank goodness...LOL), the leads leave bruises on my skin. I haven't been really sore, and am already sleeping on all sides. I was just wondering if it hinders anything me sleeping an all positions this soon after my implant (9 days ago). The other night I slept on my stomach and when I woke up the next morning, realized I had two bruises from where my leads had been pressed against my skin and left marks.
I've never heard of such a thing, just thou...

Another opinion poll

Hi guys!

Here comes another question: In Germany it is unusual that a pacer rep is there when you have your pacer interrogated. In case the cardio (here it's always a doctor doing the check) wants someone to be there, he has to call the manufacturer. I have been told that it wasn't always like that, but that cardios felt stepped on their toes by the reps presence, and so they basically threw the reps out of their office. Big egos!
I know that it's different in the U.S., and what...

arm

Hi I haven't had my PM too long (Aug 21) and this is probly a stupid question compared to most, but I do need to know. My Dr on my 2 week post opp check up said I can do anything now except raise my left arm straight up. But he didn't say how long till that heels and I would be able to extend it. Any suggestions or expiereance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you diane

expressing true feelings

i am glad to see that more people are expressing their true feelings. a lot of people are scared and lonely and unsure of what today will bring. one word from a member might keep this persons faith up . instead of degrading them for 'feeling sorry for themselves or pittying themselves'' we should open our minds and our hearts to them. none of of know what goes on in a persons life or how much they have been through or how hopeless they feel. we're not just here for pep talks and telling people t...

Better?...Not Sure

After 6 weeks I had my first "tweak" and frankly I feel worse. It was done on Friday so I have to wait until Monday to call doctor. I think she set it to high. It seems that my heart is beating faster, to the point that I feel more pressure and I can barely walk up the stairs to my bedroom. Is this usual after a tweak? And how long does it take to become accostomed to the "tweak". Thanks for any responses.

Acupuncture

Guess what? I tried acupuncture the other day (as in yesterday morning) and well...I HAVEN'T FELT THIS GOOD IN YEARS!!!!! I stopped taking my meds due to a general lack of them working a few days ago and yet since the acupuncture treatment, I have not had an irregular beat, my blood pressure has gone down and my heart has started reacting to exercise the way it is suppose to again! I go in again for another treatment on Thursday and it should take awhile for long term results, but I am amazed...

ANTIBIOTICS

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here takes antibiotics for the heart. I recently had an ear infections and I had to take antibiotics for the infection. In some weird way, my heart function a lot better with fewer extra heart beats.
My question to anyone here, is antibiotics good for the heart. I once saw on the news a Doctor stated that people having heart disease should take antibiotics, but, I never pay any attention to it until after this last ear infection when I was given antibi...

TRACEY E !!! PACER CHICK!

Most of you will have seen Tracey E's name attatched to quite a lot of postings. She is always there when you need her, always happy to offer advice and always takes time with you.

Well I just want to say a huge Thank You to Tracey for looking after me when I stayed with her last weekend for a few days. She drove us up to Tampa from West Palm Beach. Put up with me changing hotel rooms(!), picked the bathroom lock that I had somehow locked, put up with my dreadful American accent, p...

To pace or not to pace?

I am thrilled to get a response so quickly! Thank you so much for sharing your valuable input! Up to this point I have felt alone and worried about this subject.

By saying "no blockage" I meant no electrical blockage. Also, my second opinion Dr. Told me it was impossible for anyone to die of a slow heartrate. He said they would have to also have some sort of a block or underlying problem. I am all for conservative treatment, but 28bpm in my sleep is just scary. I started t...

Exercise

Hi everyone. Have had 2 ablations and a Pulmonary Vein Isolation (last ablation and PVI were a little over a year ago).

Recently I upped my exercise program to a 2 mile walk prior to an 8 mile bike ride. Twice (10 days apart at exactly the same spot during my walk) my heart has jumped from 95 exercise rate to 111 and 116. The last time the happened I had strong PVC prior to the event. The event doesn't last long only about 30 seconds before coming back down to my exercise rate of 95 (...

To pace or not to pace?

I suffer from chronic fatigue. 10 years ago I had a holter monitor that revealed a low of 37 bpm. With no blockage, I was told this was just me so anything done. I am not an athlete.

Last month I had another 24 hr and subsequently a 14 day holter and got to 28 bpm. Again, no blockage; however the heartrate qualifies for a pacemaker. To help with the decision a tilt table study was done. Resting hr was 36 flat and 44 at a 90 degree tilt. After they injected me with something to...

More China advice

Hi!
I got quite a few helpful responses on my question about my PM pacing while in China. I was able to get to Shanghai to have it interrogated by a licensed Medtronic rep (my PM is Medtronic) and found it to be pacing a little more than usual (only to confirm my suspicions). I was sent back with a "good luck" after asking if it was safe and getting a "Well, it depends on the kind of electrical field forcing it to pace." Two weeks later, I'm still unable to find out what kind of electricity...

Afraid to sleep

Last post was about the tingles....still have them. Heart monitor watch says my resting heart rate is 54 give or take....pm set to fire at 50....afraid to close my eyes...afraid I may die in my sleep.

I am not getting used to having the pm. Only been 3 weeks but I think about it constantly.

Was at the ER already once this week but no tingles at the time...scared.

Someone...advice....please...
