Should I feel a "thump, bump or any type of difference or movement from my 2 wires/dual PM? I have only had my Boston Scientific PM/ablation about a week, and I do not feel my PM do anything (very silent). Makes me even wonder if it is working. People have asked if I "feel" anything, and I can not tell anything is moving/working ~ ~ my 1 week ck-up was ok I guess, they said to come back in 3 months. They just put a "wand" over the PM and read their computer. I do not feel "bumps/thumps/etc....

hi everyone
I can bearly or is it barely sit here and type but I am such a determined girl that I first want to thank everyone for their support.
however...I know this might sound crazy, ridiculous and out of this world, but last night I got up out of bed to go downstairs and fell the entire flight on hardwood stairs I might add. I don't think anything is broken (other than all my fingernails on my left hand), but I am in more pain and just want to die.
what the...

This may sound a little crazy but it works for me. I usually have some kind of arrhythmia everyday. These don't stop me from doing anything they are just annoying. The other day I could feel I was beating irregular. I took a break and ate an apple. A couple minutes later the arrhythmia was gone. Now I eat an apple every time I feel an arrhythmia. For all I know it may be in my mind but I can't argue with success. Has anyone else noticed certain foods helping with their irregular beats?...

I had a pacemaker inserted in early August, 2009. The pacemaker is below and against my left clavicle.
1. I golfed for the first time today and found that the pacemaker rubs into the left clavicle on the backswing limiting my ability to make a full turn. Does anyone else have this problem? Was their pacemaker placed in a different location away from the clavicle to prevent this problem?

I know the dr. said I wouldn't feel the pm fire. But some members here said they do feel theirs fire off. What does it feel like? I don't go back until the 21st but have keeping a log of all the "strange" things I have been feeling. Trying to match them up...so truly do't know what it feels like.
Any thoughts?

Is there anyone who would like to compare notes about exposure to hazardous chemicals, jet fuel, solvents and the like? That's my story in a nutshell. The manufacturers of these substances state that exposure can cause or exacerbate arrhythmia. My cardiologist says I had a misdiagnosis 1n 1976, and now I'm sitting here with a squeeky new pacemaker after 33 years of headaches, shortness of breath, passing out on occasion...my guess is these are common symptoms experienced by many. I expect to...

Well, after taking what I call my Pookie Cocktail (a mixture of drugs)...don't worry, they're all safe together as I checked with my Pharmacist, I feel better. Not 100% but at least 60% better.
I will never be able to describe how awful I felt. I truly wanted to die....seriously. I've been thru a rough 5 yrs and these last 2-3 days were pretty close to being the worst, my worst being the cardiac tamponade while fully awake & the colonoscopy fully awake.

It seems like for those of us with Medtronics that they are almost exclusively using the Adapta for a replacement. I also keep hearing about having difficulty programming it to work as well as the Kappa.
Any input or stories would be appreciated. I'm coming up on replacement of my Kappa and want to get ahead of the game.
One other question. Is there a model number for the Adapta or are they all the same?
thanks,
frank

Hi everyone, i am new here and would like to ask a question....
I have had my pacemaker for 6 years now and for the last 6 weeks have been having dizzyness, shortness of breath, chest pain and tightness and eptopic beats (at least 60 - 70 per day)
I know they are eptopic beats as i just had a ultrasound of my heart today and while having the test i had a run of them.
I cant get into my cardiologist for a couple of months so i am a little worried about them.
Has anyone had th...

Hi everyone
Went to ER last night and again this morning via ambulance. I've been SO sick since that dam Colonoscopy but they rehydrated me via IV and gave me drugs for pain, nausea, etc. However I still can't keep even liquids down but in time that will come. I'm even scared to weigh myself as this has been going on for 2 weeks now. Soon they will be able to just hold my up to the light instead of taking an Xray :)
My heart gave everyone quite the scare last night so I...

Thanks for the responses to my earlier post regarding my pacemaker checkup.
Yep, I have my blood work done once a month and nothing is outta the ordinary according to the doctors.
I even have all the copies. There are a few things a bit out of range, but my family doctor said they aren't far enough out to be of any concern.
Remember I was telling everyone how wonderful my stomach was after losing so much weight and now I can eat everything and anything; well,...

I had implanted a single chamber V V I R pacemaker in May 2008 after suffering from viral myocarditis. According to my doctor I had beating as well as pumping difficulties. Before implantation my doctor had told me that I might need a dual chamber pacemaker but went for the single chamber one. Eight months later he asked me to remain prepared to upgrade to a dual chamber pacemaker, but did not spell any time limit by which I should upgrade. Two months later I developed breathing difficulties and...
