Man, my lung issues have literally dropped me on my butt, but I'm back to work today.
I've been using that darn spirometer like the docs have instructed, and I've got some pretty good rest over the weekend. I didn't stay in the hospital, which I think was a good thing. You always get better rest at home anyways, and there wasn't a whole lot that they could do besides breathing treatments, oxygen, etc. I think after this week of taking it easy, I'll be back on track.
Thanks for the love...

I'm back, I have posted a few messages.I'm 4 months post PM implantation. For the most part everything is going great. I've recently returned to work as a Long Term Care Aid.The work itself can be very physical with lots of lifting and turning etc. Since returning back to work I've had some similar symtoms that I had prior to the PM. I used to get this feeling in my stomach almost like an adrenaline rush just before i used to almost pass out. I was diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block hence the...

Have any of you been following the news reports on a survey that showed nearly half of docs regularly prescribe placebo pills to patients. Some of the articles also mentioned docs not correctly telling the patient what was done and why during a procedure.
I wonder if this isn't the cause of some of the reports here on the forum that don't seem to make sense.
If you are interested, Google the words "doctors placebo" (leave the quotes out. There isn't any particular article...

I have had my current PM for 8 and a half years. I have my annual check up coming up this week, and I'm starting to get a little worried about them talking about a replacement. I have gone through the last 8 or so years without any worries or cares about it, but now it has hit me like a runaway train!
I'm starting to find that maybe the anxiety about it is making me feel unwell, and I'm feeling tired and short of breath. Short of energy and generally irritable. I'm usually full of bou...

I was wondering if any has experience with a pacemaker and the US military. I am getting ready to go some tests and the doctor thinks I will need a pacemaker. I am in the military and was wondering what kind of complications I will have with that. Thanks!

Hello there:
I went to my cardi, this week. Did a check on my ICD/PM.
All looked good there. But she said I am going into cardi-arrest.
She also gave me Lasix+potassium. I have to weigh myself every a.m. Anyone else out there that has the same problem?
Also how do I find out if my PM is turned on or off. Forgot to ask, got the print out though. What do I look for. Asking this question because I was suppose to have only the ICD implanted, but they implanted the combination whic...

Went to my cardioligist wednesday for a followup after the week prior adjustment. Had been off from work a week. Breathing was a little better, getting fatigued after little excersion, lightheaded, and getting dizzy. Made no adjustments, told me in no uncertain terms I shouldnt even be here, told me I probably will not be able to do any physical labor as what i had been doing, and he wanted me to go on disability. he is adjusting my medication upping my coreg dosage, and will keep raisiing as lo...

Hi Everyone!!!
Just a quick update to let you all know that I'm still around.
I've been busy taking care of the world's worst head cold. I hadn't had one in about 8 years and I forgot how miserable it can be. I'm almost better now (one week later) other than having Kleenex nose! (You know when you blow so much your nose starts to fall off and it gets all raw.) Guess I've been doing a lot of snoring at night too according to hubby!!! How attractive!!!
Oh.....

Hello, I had a pacemaker put in on the 13th. I have TONS of questions but right now I need to know something that is scaring me. I *think* my doctor set my limit for 65. My pulse just registered 64. Does that mean the pacemaker isn't working?? Someone please answer. I'm scared.
Thank you.
