Magnetic phone holder

Has anyone had any experience with the small magnetic phone holders that fit into the car's vent? I know magnets plus pacemakers can be problematic, but I would imagine such a small magnet 3 feet from the PM wouln't be a problem.

Thoughts?

Pacemaker at Laundramat

Have had pacemaker for a week.  Medtronics but have not yet received card with all identifiying info.

Anyone know or have experience with problems while washing/drying clothes in a sizeable laundramat?  Just seems there are a significant number of electrical motors all running at once in such an establishment.  Thanks in advance!

Pacemaker VS Fire Alarm

Hi all! I had my pacemaker put in last week, and noticed that the fire alarm in my house upstairs went off now twice when I went near It! This particular fire alarm is even with my face as I have a low ceiling upstairs, and is also the only one that has ever gone off. I know it is possible for a person with a pacemaker to set off store alarms, but now I'm wondering could my pacemaker also be setting off my fire alarm? I do not go upstairs often, but it had never gone off before I got...

Pacemaker vs. defibulator

My daughter in law is an EMT,  and has told me to wear my pacemaker ID bracelet all the time.  She says they wouldn't use a defibulator on a person with a pacemaker, but they need to know this.   Anyone hear of this before?

600 MW CoGen Power Station

I don't have an ICD - yet. My doctor is recommending that I get one, and sent me to an Electrophysiologist. During the visit, the question was asked, "What do you do for a living?" My reply, "I&E Technician." Next question, "Where do you work?" "At a 600 MW CoGen Facility", I replied. With raised brow, he asked, "How often do you go around the generators?" I shot back, "Daily." With lowered brow, he asked, "Can they tran...

Las Vegas with new pace maker

Hello All,

I had my buddy ( pace maker ) placed 7 weeks ago due to bradycardia and honestly I feel so much better. I went to Las Vegas over the weekend for a romantic getaway and ended up coming back the next day. My question is has any one gone to Vegas and had similar symptoms that were there before your pace maker was placed come back?  I had the lightheadedness, nasuea and heart fluttering start again. Now that i'm back home I feel great again. So strange and going crazy th...

Metal detectors at Customs

Hi all.  I haven't posted in a long while.  Hubby and I are going to South Korea soon and I am getting more anxious as time goes by.  This is the first flight I've made since having my pacemaker installed.  And the first time I've been overseas in over 40 years.  Hubby has never been out of North America.

I know I have to let security at the airport know I have the pacemaker, but I don't know about South Korean Customs.  They have an i...

Hybrid Cars

I have had my pacemaker about 5 months.  It is set so it will take over if my heart-rate goes below 60 bpm but I also have SVT which is controlled by medication.  When I ride in our Lexus Hybrid I have noticed that my heart rate increases. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Hybrid or electric cars.

Thanks
