Smart Phone

I just got my first Smart Phone (at age 74) and am concerned about things that I have read about magnet interference.  I know about not puttting it in a pocket on the side of the pacemaker, and I know about using it on the opposite ear as the pacemaker. Back Pack Sprayer

I live/work on a ranch and need to do a lot of spraying.  Tired of carrying around a 2 gallon pump up sprayer.  Was thinking about getting a battery powered back pack sprayer since it's easier to distribute the weight across your shoulders/back.  The boss (my lovely bride) says whoa you can't do that it will mess with your pacemaker.

Contain-A-Pet collars/invisible fence

I am 2 weeks post op with a pacemaker and trying to figure out all my new "rules." Turns out, electromagnetism is everywhere-ugh! I've found a bit about the underground dog fence, but not much about the collars. Does anyone have a good source for recommended distance from the collars? This is going to be tough since we take the collars on and off every time the dogs go out!

Electric vehicle charging

  I'm looking into purchasing an electric vehicle as gas prices have skyrocketed where I live. I've read a number of studies showing that riding in a fully electric vehicle doesn't pose significant risk to a pacemaker's functionality. I have also been in an electric vehicle with no adverse effects.

Adjustable beds with massage

I installed two Electromagnetic Field Finder apps on my phone.  I have a 10" mattress with a 3" topper.  Using each app, they detected EMF when I put the phone near the motor under the frame but when I laid the phone on the mattress, it just kept searching and apparantly didn't find any.  I have been afraid to use the massage feature with my pacemaker because I had heard it could interfere.  Now, I see that it emits EMF when I raise and lower the bed.  B...

Railway power lines 25000 Volts AC

I work in a Railway Maintenance Depot and had my implant in November 2021.

I have been lucky enough to work from home during the pandemic but we will be soon going back into the offices.

In the UK the overhead power lines that electric trains use are at 25000 Volts AC.

magnet in talking remote for tv

Hi just got a new remote for the TV that you talk to to along with a new cable converter box from Comcast/infinity.  Today held  the remote close to the pacemaker(was not thinking).  Got very dizzy.  Of course once i moved the remote away and closed my eyes was ok.  Thank goodness i was sitting down.  Did not have a problem with the other one as did not speak into that one.

TENS machine and Pacemaker

Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a TENS machine to help manage chronic lower back pain .  I would place the pads in the lower back.

I know the TENS sends small, minor pulses via battery to the affected area.

Am just wondering if safe for those with pacemakers or if contraindicated. I've had my pacemaker  for 7 years now.

Musician Question

4 weeks out from getting my Pacemaker put in.  Doing well and trying to adapt.  Question on interferences.  I am a musician and play digital piano, keyboards and electric guitar.  I've read that I should be able to wear headphones as long as I don't lay them around my neck when I'm not using them.  Is that correct?
