43 with a PM now for 9 days and feeling good. Back to work now for two days. First beer today! But what about skiing? Dr says no sporting activity/lifting/reaching with the left arm for 3 weeks after the operation, but then "whatever you did before you can do with the PM". What I'm wondering is whether any of you out there have direct experience getting back on the slopes? Its winter and I wanna ski - so do my three girls!!
Same question goes for surfing.....

Hello everyone, I have had a Cardiologist checkup today. It appears that I have 18 to 24 months left on this pacer.....
The Doc looked a little sad as he shared this news with me. I thought uhmmmmm.... well my day has not gone as I had hope. Really feeling sad. uhmmmm So I smiled at the doc (he is sort of cute) and said "YOO HOO!" That's great news! He look a bit bewildered! I laughed and said. "Well at least I have another 2 years on this model." Maybe the new one will...

Hi all,
Just curioius if anyone has had pacemaker syndrome immediately after a pacemaker interrogation? Or feel like the technician left the battery on your chest when you left the office? I went back and had three adjustments, but it looks like I will have to live with the sensation of my heart beating in my stomache, lightheadedness, pain in neck, etc... Any suggestions?
Thanks for the info?

Are lead extractions done under general anesthesia, or can they be done without being put to sleep?

Hi,
to all... especially Lenora's friends!!
I had a Card today returned form the states which I sent to Lenora.... with a message Return to sender "Vacant" unable to forward..... As a Uk resident I can only assume that means she has left that address and no farwarding address is available.
Please correct me if I am wrong.....
My guess is that she moved North to be with her Sons...I 'm sure she knows we still think of her; and wish her the best of health and happiness........a...

Does anyone here practice yoga? Can anyone think of any concerns doing it? I've started yoga and I wonder if all the stretching could cause a lead to come out. I've had my pm for 9 months now and all is fine. Is it ever possible for a lead to pull out, even after it's been in a long time?
Thanks,
Rusty
Positive Attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!
I geuss that knowledge and experience make all the differance. Getting my PM at the age of 36 was a shock and scary for everyone involved. I have been very fortunate that that was the "fix" and not a problem to speak of since. This week it was thought that my elderly uncle had a heart attack and everyone was worried. It was discovered that he din't have a MI and only a drastic slow down in his BPM. To make a long story short, my Mom (his sister) went to see him in the hospital this am and inform...

Hi PM Pals
Does anyone out there suffer from extreme tiredness. I just can't seem to shake it. It is worse when I sit down to the computer. I know they say blue is a relaxing colour but the energy seems to just drain out of me. My blood test was ok with just a rise in iron level. My ecg showed no further changes. My doc rang me last night. My only conclusion is that it is the heat (it is summer here) or I am just getting plain old and worn out. My brain is so active but the bod...

What is the reason to reposition your pacemaker? Is there a reason other than comfort?

Have you ever felt like you're being left out? Well, I know that felling very well. One day in school, I was assinged a video project and one of the girls that I worked with told me to pick out the music. So whiile I was doing that, the girl pushed me out the way and she picked out the music. I dealt with this very carefullly because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. So, I backed out and let the other two girls to the project by themselves.

Hello,
I'm happy to report that my auntie went through a quadruple bypass surgery yesterday and the latest report is telling that she's coming alone just fine. I'm excited and still a bit nervous about the whole thing. I'm sure she's going to be okay. I'm hoping she'll be able to come over and have a nice tilapia and penne pasta dinner, prepared of course by muwha. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Special thanks to Ela-girl, Smitty, Jessie and Carol for your testimonies. God...

I don't claim to know more than anyone else. I too wondered what DMMS was. I looked high, and I looked low, and I found............

Just what is DMMS and how many people actually would go there and why?
I realize that I am dating myself, but hey this is the year that I will turn 55! So if I don't ask now I might run out of steam and I would never know. Now you all know that it would not be a good thing! How could I sleep at night if I had to wonder.....
Now someone please take mercy on me and bring me up to speed before I resort to phoning my granddaughter I can almost hear her chuckles now...
You know you're wired when...
You have rhythm.

It's much better to live with a pacemaker than to risk your life without one.
