Sutures out tomorrow

Well it's been a week since my PM was put in and tomorrow I go back to have the sutures taken out. I reckon my incision has healed pretty well; the nurse drew an outline on the covering just after the surgery and the blood didn't go outside that area during the whole week so I'm pretty confident things are going well.
What I miss most though is driving. I can't wait until I'm able to do that again. I know legally my week is up but I'd rather wait on the doctors' opinion.

My doctor stopped my medication, Rythmol Sr, on Saturday because I am due to have my EP Study done Monday, Jan. 26th. I was wondering if stopping the meds can be making me feel bad? I mean, my pulse is going back up again and I got very weak last night. My belly is staying nauseated and I just feel crappy and tired. Is this because my meds are trying to work out of my system? Thanks for listening.

I have a Latitude Communicator from B/S that has to used weekly.
That was all well and good until I disconnected my landline. Has anyone figured out how to use the Communicator with a cell phone??? Their website says it is an analog device and won't work with a cell phone. I don't like the idea of finding a phone jack to plug into for 1 minute every Monday morning. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Pacemaker Pals! I hope that everyone is doing well.
I have been having some issues over the past couple of weeks, and I was wondering if any of you have any insight as to what might be going on.
Here's a quick up-date: I got my pacemaker a little over a year ago for NCS & SSS. I have had 4 ablations in the last 8 months to control SVT & IST...the last was in November and it was a complete sinus node ablation.
The ablation has taken care of my tachycardia...
Any Cure for PVC's?

Hi,
I had my PM implanted last July because of slow heart rate after ablation for AFIB. Everything is fine, except my PVC's are getting more and more frequent; it's occurring now every day for many hours. My Cardiologist does not seem to be worried. But, I feel very uncomfortable when it comes, like "heart in the throat" and a nausea feeling.
Anybody experience this , and any cures?
thanks
Ken

I collapsed yesterday with an arrhythmia for no good reason at all! Usually my events happen only when my body is under moderate stress (I'm rushing, dehydrated, out of shape, etc.), but on this occasion I was simply walking down a city sidewalk. In this case, the weather was the only extreme element, and I am wondering if anyone else has difficulty breathing/functioning in the cold air. It was maybe 10°F at the time (if that). Anyone else? I just hate it when these things aren't explainable in...

Just thought this very LONG article may help someone out there....
The term 'heart block' refers to a delay or stoppage at some point of the electrical pathway of the heart, and is a medical diagnosis made on the basis of an electrocardiogram (ECG). Depending on the variety, heart blocks may produce slow heart rates leading to dizziness or blackouts, or may produce no symptoms at all.

As some may have noticed, I haven't been online much. I used to come here quite often in the early days, after getting my first pacemaker. I had been very lucky and made some very good friends here. Which brings me to my reason for posting today. I haven't actually felt much like posting or reading any post for a while now... here is why...

Hi all,
Okay, so I have posted here a few times since I found this site, however I read the posts everyday. I must say I am amazed at how in tune so many of you are to what is going on with your hearts. I guess I should start with a somewhat long summary of my problems. Six years ago(age 44) while living in Maryland I had an episode of shortness of breath, chest tightness, extreme heaviness in in my shoulders. My work called EMS and off I went to the hospital. Unfortunately, yet fortunate...

1. A man comes into the ER and yells, 'My wife's going to have her baby in the cab!' I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's dress, and began to take off her underwear. Suddenly I noticed that there were several cabs --- and I was in the wrong one.
2. At the beginning of my shift I placed a stethoscope on an elderly and slightly deaf female patient's anterior chest wall. 'Big breaths,' I instructed. 'Yes, they used to be,' replied the patient.
3. One...

Hello everyone....thanks for all the warm greetings I received. This is problably going to sound dumb.....but, is it possible to feel the pacemaker adjusting or working to keep your heartrate above a certain rate? The doctor told me that the pacemaker would keep my heart rate from dropping below 60....well, when I am in afib my rate gets up to around 135 or more....I could have sworen that two weeks ago I started to feel like I did when my heartrate was dropping down to 17, but this time it w...

Found in today's American Heart Association Newsletter:
When taken exactly as prescribed, medications can do wonders. They can help prevent heart attack and stroke. They can also prevent complications and slow the progression of coronary heart disease. Make sure that your doctor knows all the drugs you're taking, including over-the-counter drugs and natural supplements. Discussing all the drugs you take will help you prevent serious side effects and help the medications have their des...

Have any of ya'll seen those annoying commercials about sending your unwanted gold in and exchanging it for cash?
I see in the future:
"Just send in your old pacemakers / icd's for cash. Call the number on your screen now, for a free quote, and information packet. Bonus: Extra funds for recalled Guidant"
"I never knew that my old pacer was worth that much, now I can get that BMW I always wanted."
LOL!
I hate those commercials. LOL!
