Flemeton and Selo-Zok

I had irregular and slow pulse during 2009, and had a pacemaker installed in December 2009. It's keeping my pulse above 6 bpm, but, unfortunately, I have more or less continous A-fib since I got the PM.

On these pages, I found an advertisment for a herbal product called Flemeton, from a New Zealand company, and I ordered a cure. But when it arrived, it was sent from Pakistan, so I put it in a drawer.

However, my doctor have adviced me to do something about the A-fib, and h...

Dizzy

Hello all
Firstly, I apologize for constantly repeating the same intro over and over again, but I think it is important to always set the table before serving the soup.
I am a 59 year-old physically active male who received a dual lead Sorin Rely PM at the end of May 2010 following a syncope. The diagnosis was Sick Sinus Syndrome, although I had been followed for a few years for bradycardia and type 2 AV block.
I am not taking any drugs related to those conditions, only Crestor a...

Does anyone know please?

Hi. Just to let you all know that I've just had my 24 hour blood pressure monitor test.......returned the monitor to the hospital this morning (UK). My EP wanted it done to investigate my dizziness on exertion problem which I've had since my ablation last July.

I had an exercise/treadmill test done in November which I failed as my systolic BP dropped (top number) middway in the test. The systolic BP is supposed to increase on exertion, not fall. When this happened in the test I was ve...

Cardioversion

I have had a PM for about four months and have been pacing at 92%. The lower rate limit was set at 60 bpm which is also the default setting for my Medtronic Adapta ADDR01. Last week I had a cardioversion and experienced a higher pulse rate for a few days as I have in the past just after the procedure. My rate seems to have settled down but has leveled out at 72 bpm. Either my natural heart rate has settled in at 72 or my PM is now pacing at 72. My resting rate before the PM was in the low 4...

ADD & ADHD Medication

HI,

Does anybody currently take medication for ADHD or ADD who also has a cardiac pacemaker? I was just wondering if there were any complications or people had come across this issue?

THanks

Ivabradine

My doctor suggested trying this medication for my tachycardias, but she says that it's not available or approved in the US, only in Europe. I live in Puerto Rico. Have any of you taken it or can you tell me how can I get it? I've tried to contact her but she hasn't answered (she gave me the suggestion through e-mail).

Thanks.

Fog

Hello to all.....have a question and I am having a hard time describing this. Ever since I received my PM (about 2 months ago) I get a very weird feeling....its like I have just taken some cold medicine (feels like I am in a fog) this happens maybe a couple days in a row for an hour or so, then maybe not for a couple weeks??? I was wondering if it was the Beta Blocker, but it started before I was prescribed those. Like I said, it is very difficult to describe the symptoms.  I don’...

Home monitoring device

Hi,

my wife was given a home monitoring device recently to monitor her merlin ICD we can't get it to work and the supplier seems to think it is because we have cable telephone and not BT.
We had no problem with the other device she had fitted which was medtronic? before Merlin.

question about meds

I have had a pacemaker since 2008. I have severe A-Fib also. My cardiologist has tried many things to help with this but nothing takes care of it completely. At my last visit he suggested putting me in the hospital to administer a new med (you have to be monitored because it can cause you to have a heart attack also). Anyway, I declined for that reason and also I have no insurance. So he started me on Metroprolol to see if that would help. Maybe it has, I'm not so sure. But my question is...

More about Pradaxa

Hello there! I posted a question about Pradaxa side effects in December when I had just started taking it and was experienceing stomach cramps and pain. With encouragement from other members, I stuck with it and was SO happy that after a week all side effects were gone. Sadly, my new health insurance will pay only 50% of the retail price rather than the former $50 per month (which was stiff enough in itself!) Anyway, I certainly cannot pay the almost $250 for one month's supply considering all t...

CoQ

Can anyone tell me how good is CoQ. My cardiologist says it will make my heart muscles stronger and is a good investment.
I just want to be sure as it is frightfully expensive in the Middle East where I live presently. Bob

Complete Congenital Heart Block ?s

Hello...I am new here, and so glad to have found this website! I was just diagnosed two weeks ago with CCHB (complete congenital heart block) I am 38 years old. When I was 5, I was told I had a heart block, but no degree was assigned. Jump forward to ten years ago, and a regular cardio diagnosed me with 2nd degree wenckebach. He retired, I went into an EP, who appologetically confirmed that I had been MISDIAGNOSED all this time. He ran some tests, treadmill stress test (got up to 120 bpm ma...

Major Decision

I don't know what to do. I have had problems with chest pain and shortness of breath with exertion since July 2010. I have had the full spectrum of cardiology and pulmonary function tests. Everything is normal except in 4 different stress tests from Sept 2010 to last week, my maximum heart rate during exercise is significantly decreased. All the doctors have called it chronotropic incompetence. One group of docs told me it is just due to my deconditioning as I have been unable to exercise f...

Feeling Faint

I began walking recently - 2 miles per day at a rather brisk pace. I have experienced a few episodes of feeling faint just for a moment. It goes away and then returns a couple of times per day. I recently felt the urge to cough because of the feeling in my throat while walking. I feel really good most all the time and have a lot of confidence in the pm. I take no medications for the heart.

Hi everyone,

I have a CT scan scheduled for tomorrow. Is it safe? Any precautions, other then letting them know?  I know we can’t have MRI’s, but I thought CT scans are o.k., any experiences?

Thanks, Veronika

Perfusion Scan

Hi everyone.

I got my PM in July 2010 For A-Fib.  In September my EP sent me for a Myocardial Perfusion Scan.  The study was interpreted as subjectively positive and objectively equivocal.
The resting ejection fraction was 64%.  Spect images demonstrated no definite evidence of reversible myocardial ischemia.  When my EP read the report he said my heart was OK, but I see now my Doctor has put under medical conditions "Ischamic Heart Disease". Can s...

Dronedarone warning by FDA and Sanofi

Hi there!

I'll be more careful with posting studies, articles etc. but this seems to be really important:

FDA has published a warning today about severe liver injury associated with the use of Dronedarone. Sanofi Aventis has sent a letter to healthcare professionals informing them, and asking them to inform their patients.

To read the warning go to:

Medication

Hi.  I wonder if anyone can help. I’ve noticed on here there are lots of people on medication and obviously I will ask my doctor at my check up next week, I just thought I’d ask on here too.

I got the PM a few weeks ago for blackouts and dizziness mainly, so far it has stopped the blackouts although I haven’t really been doing much.  However, I’m still experiencing the dizzy spells I would have before blacking out. Is anyone on medication for thi...
