Glad It's Over

Is anyone else out there glad Xmas is over? Don't get me wrong I enjoy the holidays. I just don't enjoy everything that comes along with it. Every year I lose my will power. I start eating like a pig and I lose the desire to work out. The good news is it's only temporary and I'll be back to my normal routine tomorrow.
As usual I over did it today. I couldn't pass the cookies and brownies without helping myself to some. Now I'm feeling bloated and broke. I have two teenagers who co...

Christmas day

Hi all,
I don't post much. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Was just wondering how you all spent your day. I spent my Christmas at Byron Bay in Australia overlooking the beautiful ocean. It is very hot and humid here (mid 30 C- close to 100 F). I have never been close to having a white Chrismas.
have a happy New Year.

Merry Christmas To All

There's more, much more to Christmas
Than candle-light and cheer;
It's the spirit of sweet friendship
That brightens all the year;
It's thoughtfulness and kindness,
It's hope reborn again,
Through the words enlightenment..
And comfort..we find here..
With our "pacer" friends.
Peace & Joy to All....Karen

What in the world...

Alright, it is a very cold, however beautiful day, here in Kansas.

My hubby asked me if I would like to go for a ride in his Jeep. The snow is beautiful and the sun was shinning. I am a bit wary when it comes to his jeep. It is BIG and black and full of his stuff. He is a train engineer and an avid hunter. I never know what I will find in his Jeep. After hiking through the snow drifts I reached the door to the jeep, I was bundled up in my cold weather gear with a fur trimmed hat. I ca...

Electric shock

I am 21 years old and I have a PM renewal in July '09.
I had some problems with my cars battery so i tried to fix it on my own and while i was trying, i accidentally touched on the engine block and i had a electric shock.
After this happened, i feel a little bit of lackness in my pulse rythms from PM. I am really scared for a shortcut that occured during that shock..
Does this mean the nodes could have been damaged and i need another surgery for a new node plantation OR could it...

What will happen?

First of all Merry Christmas to all!

Second of all...wanted to know what would happen if you did go through the security at an airport. Will it mess with the pacemaker? Will it cause any damages? Will it just deactivate?

Thank you all,

Got a PM for Christmas

Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas to all. I have been lurking for some time as a PM was in my future.

Monday I had my sinus node completely ablated using a combination epicardial/endocardial approach due to phrenic nerve proximity (my phrenic nerve was paralyzed during an ablation in June, but has since recovered mostly). The surgery went very well and they were able to implant the pacer at the same time.

The doctor expected 1 night in the CCU and then moving to a r...

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
