Chainsaws, mowers and trimmers

I have a KDR901 Pacemaker implanted in 2003, and have enjoyed a trouble free experience so far. Yesterday, I used my small chainsaw and suffered moderate fatigue afterwards. I have used this chainsaw many times previously, with no ill effects, but have been advised that chainsaws, weed trimmers, lawnmowers, etc., should not be used. What information is available and has anyone experienced difficulty after or during the use of a chainsaw?

ER Problems

Hi Everyone,
I am loving my pacemaker. No more fainting or near fainting spells in the supermarket or on bouts with my daughter. But I am frustrated with the fact that recently when I go to the regular doctor gp or the cardiologist, they have all sent me to the ER. Everything has always checked out fine. One time I had swelling on my ankles and very painful feet from working retail. They ended up sending me to the ER for high blood pressure, which went down after laying in the ER for t...

The need for info from the pacemaker

I installed a Medtronic dual chamber rate responsive pacemaker on Monday 15th December just after lunch, and attended a board meeting the next day, exactly 24 hours after I was streched out on the operation table.

The first week was really bad. I had more fibrillation than before the operation, and my pulse jumped to 160 at the slightest movement. But I have been working for a few hours each day after the operation, taking it a bit easy. I removed the bandage today, and I'm getting b...

recommended pacemaker

I will be getting a pacemaker soon and I am really nervous about it. Can anyone recommend the make or model for the most reliable device? They say I have sick sinus syndrome. I am 62 and after reading some of your comments, am becoming even more nervous. I do not take any meds at this time and do not want to start. Any thoughts will be appreciated
Thanks,
Sandee

very tired

Hi everyone, as the Christmas baking 'challenge' was going on (the marathon) type of cooking went rather well for me but then all of a sudden, it seemed that I got super tired.
I was taking a nap on Christmas morning after stuffing a turkey and being up way too late on Christmas Eve visiting and going to Christmas Eve services at two different churches.
When I realized that I overslept and was way late on starting a stock pot of soup for another family gathering on Christmas afternoon-...

Still out of breath

I have had a pacemaker for about 18 months. I am 67 years old and had never had a heart problem and had led a very active and healthy life. Then I experienced a very low heart rate, was getting out of breath going from my car to my office, and ended up in the hospital having pacemaker surgery I. still get out of breath when climbing stairs, walking uphill, or walking at more than a slow pace. My doctors are at a loss and tell me to just keep exercising. A change in the beta blocker I was on t...

New to the club

Hi Everyone

I am new to this site and this is my first posting.

It came as a big shock to me when I found that I 'needed' a pacemaker as I have lived a pretty healthy, active life for a 29 year old - you know work hard, play hard, living life to the full with no previous health issues. I had 2 episodes of fainting this year; the first in May 2009 when I blacked out whilst passing water - visited A&E as had chest pains, palpitations and pins and needles, I was told that I w...

Thought I would share. I found this website with Med ID jewlery that isn't ugly and the prices are reasonable. I found a very nice bracelet that would go with work or casual clothes.

Frustrated

Four weeks ago i got my pacemaker. I'm still having trouble getting out of bed, im very tired.I get winded very easily.I went to my cardio doctor last week, he said i needed to give my self time to heal. I had the pacemaker rep. do an integragation, and said everything was normal. At that point the doctor put a 24 hour moniter on and noticed i was having fast Arrythmia, so he sent me back to the E.P doctor, who had to make adjustments. Within 24 hours i was back at the E.P. doctor because i had...

Merry Christmas. (We had a white Christmas)
I'm a novice in here, bare with me please. Sadly my English isn’t very good either. I have been reading your telling, and I must say I’m very glad I found this place at the internet. Your telling has really helped me understanding things, accepting things, and learning. Thank you very much.
I would like to tell my story as well.
The last year I felt I was getting sick of stress. I could no longer control my blood sugar, I forgot both...

It only gets better!

Hi everyone, hope all was/is well with you and yours during this year. It seems that Nov thru Jan is the most difficult time for a lot of folks. This past year has been a very challageing one to say the least. Having an op for a pace maker was a time for my family, especially my dear sweet husband, to give whatever support they could even tho they couldn't really empathize w/me.

Holidays usually broght me down both physically and emotionally. Now I feel that God has given me a second...
