Good afternoon,
Do you guys feel your cardiologists/EP's are more technical mechanics than nurturing, caring healers or both. If both, you're lucky!
Dealing with cardiologists for years now, I asked everyone of them "why" they became cardiologists...AND everyone of them shrugged and said "I don't know," I kid you not!
Ask me why I spent a long career in the Coast Guard risking my life as a first responder...and I would say to "save lives."
Interesting...

I just came back from an interrogation and finally had some good news. At my last interrogation I was told I had 30 episodes of A-Fib and was in A-Fib 14% of the time. The longest episode was 56 hrs. At this interrogation I had 14 episodes and was in A-Fib 3% of the time and my longest episode was 16 hrs. The strange thing is nothing was changed on my last interrogation. I'm hoping it means my heart is getting stronger. I certainly feel much better than I have. I posted a message a while...

Hi - I posted earlier this week re: being dx'd with sick sinus syndrome - waiting to see an EP but meanwhile cardiologist started me on coumadin. Started tonight - I am concerned - afraid of course I will have a hemorrhagic stroke or bleed to death - have hx of ulcers, only one kidney, diabetes and frequent UTI's. Mostly concerned about adjustment of dose - being tested tomorrow but then I have to wait until next Wed to go to the coumadin clinic to be tested again. I am a vegetable eater due...

Hi All
I have PM for heart block. recently told I have high levels of mercury and that may have been the cause. have come across a powdered volcanic rock called zeolite. it is negatively charged and claimed to attract the heavy metals in the body (which are positively charged) which are then excreted.
my question is will the zeolite effect the metal components of the Pm and leads?
kind regards

Hi Everyone,
I am still having a lot of problems with the rate response setting. I went to the doctor and first he shut off the rr , I felt great around the house, no flutters, no palpitations but when I went out to ride my bike my heart rate wouldn't go above 60, the programmed minimum and I quickly felt like garbage and had to return home after 3 miles. I am assuming that my sinus node is shot as well since my heart rate wouldn't increase unless there is a setting on the pacemaker...

Hi all,
Firstly, I'd like to say how nice it is to have found this website and how supportive everyone is...it's a great comfort!
I have a history of dizzy spells since I was 13 and am now 27. A few weeks ago during a test to see if my spells were caused by Epilepsy, a single heart rate monitor that was placed on my chest picked up that my heart stopped for 8 seconds during a mild spell. I have had many 24hr holter monitors before, and it was sheer luck that I had a spell...
A Little Upset!!
Hi All,
I just need to vent my frustration, hope you don't mind.
It all started yesterday as i was having a bad day of Extra beats/PVC's.
I phoned my PM clinic to ask there advice on them as there really getting on my nerves now.
The phone was answered by a lady, and i asked if i could speak to the person ill usually deal with, (bearing in mind this was only my 5th call to them since April) so im not on at them much.
Anyway she said ill go f...

Hi,
Found out last week that another ablation attempt is in my near future (Dr. wanted to do it the next day...I walked out without scheduling). My last EP study never got to the ablation part because they couldn't induce the arythmeia for a long enough period of time to map it and fix it. It was an aweful experience and not one that I am looking forward to repeating. My question is what is the liklihood of it not working a second time?
Anybody had more than one not work?

Hi Guys,
I'm being treated with a single chamber pacemaker and have been since 1999. I had no complications or problems until this year, when I started experiencing dizziness and loss of consciousness again (like before I had my pacemaker fitted)
After various tests including another positive tilt table test and fitness test and blood tests galore the doctors have decided I have (I think) postural hypertension. They are now treating me alongside my single chamber pacemaker...

Hi, I had a pacemaker (Guidant) placed in 06-09 with Medtronic upper and lower lead wires. Right away I felt worse then before. The reason for the pacemaker is that I was unable to maintain a resting hr over 45 and was unable to get any higher then 95 during a stress test. Basically I felt terrible most of the time. After the pacemaker was in I felt like I was having a heart attack everytime I walked to the kitchen. My resting hr was set at 54. After complaining for 5 weeks my dr finally c...

Wow - found out Thursday that I have sick sinus syndrome - had holter monitor on Sept 23 due to bradycardia - ended up in ER for abdominal pain - spent night in ER - dx'd with UTI - stressed and in pain - yet that HM came back normal. Went to cardiologist for clearance for knee replacement surgery on Nov 3 and I said I felt the HM was not a true representation since I was in ER and stressed and I just wanted to make sure everything was okay. he said fine - redid HM and it came back with tachy...
