Medtronic home monitor

Looks as though another problem has developed with Medtronic MyCareLink home monitor.

This is type with hand held chest reader.

Display lit up, been on for too long now.

All three LEDs on the reader flashing. No idea what's wrong.

This is the second unit gone on the blink.

If it doesn't stop flashing, I'll pull the plug on it to see if it fixes it.

That's two problems in the space of three years. Not impressed.

Can the doctor adjust my pacemaker for this?

With regular activities and work, etc, I feel great with more energy etc. My pulse range was 40-60 and now it is 60-80. 

My issue is that if I quickly pick up my pace walking in a hurry, or climb steps, or lift something with my other side arm like a suitcase and carry it that I get winded to the point that others notice and comment. 

Sometimes it seems if I get anxiety that it impacts my breathing too a little.

New Dual Chamber Pacemaker

What interferes with your device?

While on vacation this summer, I went go karting. I loved this as a young boy and thought it would be fun racing my wife and friends around the track.  I was suprised that the motor really interfered with my pacemaker.  It felt like I was at the pacemaker clinic when they test your device, but for a longer duration of time.  My heart rate dropped and skipped some beats.  It was a really strange feeling that stopeed as soon as I hopped out of the ka...

Heartbeat in armpit

I just had a new PM put in after 10 years as my battery life ran out. I have a Medtroic Azure XT and I bascally pace 90+ % of the time in the atrium but at my first check up I was pacing 25% of the time in my ventricle so they made a slight change to my settings. Advice for upcoming surgery

My daughter is 15 and will be having surgery in a couple days to implant a pace maker.  This is all very sudden for all of us and Im trying to learn as much as possible in a short time.

8 months after implant

I'm a 62 year old male, I'm 8 months in since my implant . I was asymptamatic when I received my implant. I feel  the same as I did  before I got my dual chambered device. No issues  what so ever. I am a welder and still welding with no issues. I did speak with a tech from Boston Scientific 1st before returning to welding. Not good, but not bad echo results

Hey ladies and gents... for anyone that was curious about my echo results from yesterday; it turns out that I'm still a 16. Not surprising considering my hurdles over the last 5 months. I thought I'd be really upset about it, but actually was grateful that it didn't go down. I'm sustaining...holding my own. That is good.

Neurological symptoms after pacemaker insertion?

Hi guys,

Going through a tough time with symptoms nearly 3 months after 2-lead PM insertion and would love to know if anyone has gone through anything similar.

Multiple Questions

Hello everyone 

I am finding this site an amazing source of information and reassurance. I have now had my PM for just ovr 2 weeks and have already had it reset twice - initially DDD but now in VVI mode because I had a lot of ectopics and the PM would fire off causing uncomfortable sensations in my chest. I am now symptom free but have been left in a rather anxious state generally and finding new things to worry about!

Battery End of Life and Safety Mode

Tricuspid Valve Repair - Regurgitation caused by PM Wire

Hey everyone,

I read some of the previous forms around this but couldn't find any recent ones. I was wondering if anyone has any experience getting a valve repair? I haven't been able to find as much online about a repair vs a replacement. I am mainly curious about recovery and the patient experience.  I have had to get a wire removed before and it was brutal for me, but I have never had a valve issue until now. GENERAL CHECK UP

Hi all, hope everyone had a nice holiday. I recently saw my EP for a general check up and he changed the settings on my pacemaker from 55 to 60 which he then told me was normal. My last EP who since retired had my pacemaker set on 55 to save life on the battery. I dont know if its me or the higher setting but I feel im not sleeping the whole night and feel my heart more so since he raised the BPM. I was wondering if I should say anything or give it some time> my check up was 2 weeks ago.

Heart rate with a new pm

First I'm 77, and do the treadmill every day at 2.5 mph.  Ok, no speed demon here. I had a St. Jude pm and routinely had a heart rate on the treadmill of 125 to 133. Two years ago I had it replaced with a Boston Scientific pm. Now my heart rate only goes up to 110 with the same speed of 2.5 mph. Is this a pm adjustment issue?

Help with AFIB I don't know what to ask for

I was diagnosed with sick sinus node syndrome and AFIB April of 2023 and recieved a pacemaker September 1, 2023.

Prior to the pacemaker implant I was taking 40mg lisinopril nightly. I complained of what I thought was cardiac cough and the cardiac nurse switched me to losartan potassium 50mg.

I had issues with this medicine (see note to follow) and then she switched me to clonidine .1mg which I also had problems with. At this point I told her I would rather take lisonpril and cough...
