Just to let you I am after surviving a major flood. You might have seen us (ohio) on the news. We were one of the hardest hit areas hit. My house missed but my brothers house got hit reallybad with 2ft of water in the basement and it was coming up to their first floor level. All the in the downtown area got hit. I have a C.A.T. in left ventricle

No, not a kitty--Have spent the last week at Mayo Clinic in Mn. because of increased number of shocks from ICD. I have had the device since 1994 and only had a few shocks in the beginning but have had 4 since the first of the year.
I was scheduled for a heart ablation last Tues. By the third test on Monday I was beginning to draw a crowd. Finally protested at the number of times they repeated the echogram and was informed I had a "forgien object" in my heart.

Problem With Pacemaker

My mother is experiencing a strange sensation with her new pacemaker. This is her third one and she has never experienced this before. Every three hours, she feels three thumps or pulses, around the clock. Her pacemaker model is Adapta made by Medtronic. Has anyone ever had this happen or knows of someone that has had this problem? Stress Relief

Since my bypass surgery in February and then PM implanted in June, I seem to get stressed out a whole lot easier. I'll feel sick for two or three days. My cardiologist has told me there is nothing mechanically wrong with my heart. I've never had a heart attack. He tells me that I'll still have bad days from time to time but not to worry about them. I just wanted to say thank you all very much for all the helpful and wonderful comments you have given me. I know things always look bad in the middle of the night. lol but actually things are starting to look up. I got my pacemaker on an emergency basis and was not expecting anything like this to happen at all. I was just feeling tired and exhausted lately at work and had no get up and go. depression

I have just gotten a pacemaker implanted, only a week ago. It is really kind of scary and upsetting. But the pain is slowly going away and I do feel so much better than I have in a long time, that it is strange that I feel so depressed. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Due For Repalacement

I due to have a replacement pacemaker in the next 6months. My job is very physical i can be on my feet up to 12hrs a day. Sometimes i cant keep up with my day. Im tired beyond what i can physically & emotionally can handle. My pacer is fine & my heart is fine. I wanted to know if anyone else feel like this or if my im letting fear get the best of me.

Longest lasting pacer???

Hi everyone!! i just had a visit with my cardiologist yesterday. My pacemaker turned 15 in July and the battery is still going strong!! I feel very lucky about this, and I asked the pacemaker tech how long the longest pacemaker lasted. She said the longest she knew personally was 23 years. Does anyone know of one that lasted longer??? I'm just curious!!

chest pain

Hi, I'm 35 female & had my second pacemaker in 2004 but when I had my first 1, I had problems with 1 of the leads, so when they did the second pacemaker they capped the lead to prevent further problems, thinking that everything was ok & working fine I was told during 1 of my check ups that again 1 of the leads were'nt working properly, so they put my appointments to every 3 months.

Pacemaker check

I had a guidant pacemaker put in place in 2001 and it lasted until january of 2007. Now it has run out of batteries and had to have another one put in this year in January. I went to my pacemaker check at a local pacemaker clinic and the technologist told me that my pacemaker was already over 20 percent used. Is this bad and what can be done about it. I have been extremely tired lately and short of breath. I already had two electrical heart attacks and 2 major strokes.

Talked to Valerie!

I know many of you have asked me if I have talked to Valerie. I talked to her yesterday. She still isn't feeling well so continue to lift those prayers up for her. The power of prayer is amazing. Friday 30th June 2006, I went to my GP (doctors) on a regular three monthly blood pressure check with the nurse. It was fine but heart rate under 50. She did ECG and called the doctor to the room who repeated the ECG.
