New PM-Questions

I received my pacemaker on 12/11/08. I am in very good shape, run 1/2 & full marathons. Have SSS and needed PM. I am now trying to figure out how easy it is to mess up leads. Ist night had hand over head when I woke up. I am not one that sets very well either so I have been busy since PM was put in and I seem very tired, more so than before PM. Is this normal? Any idea how long you are tired? If a lead is moved, will it be anything very obvious? I am having a few muscle sensations "flu...

Hi

My name is Fuad. I'm from Malaysia and just had my PM implanted on 9th December 2008 for Bradycardia. Still new and trying to adjust life with PM. That why I joined this club to get an idea, answer and suggestion from all the senior who have been through this.

My firdt concern is does Belkin N1 wireless router affect the PM? I'm using it in my room to connect with other computer in the other room. Another question is does air compressor affect your PM? My hoppy is do...

cold weather blues

It is so coooold here in northern Indiana, single digits the last few days, wind blowing, gas prices rising, fish wont bite, freeze my hands off, pondering lifes little suprises, and walking around in a brain fog alot. Getting a little depressed and trying to get out of that feeling. This is the first time since my surgery in Aug of this year that I have felt depressed guess all this is setting in. Its such a bummer not having a job and I thought i would never say that, amazing how much you miss...

Greetings to all...

I am a 61 yr old male who just found this group a couple of weeks ago, and I'm glad you are here! I got my device back in June of this year after collapsing in Ventricular Fib and nearly dying. Recently had it "tuned up" so it is working well now!
Unfortunately, I have other "medical issues" so I can not say I feel like a new man now. I am alive though, and that's a good thing!
It's good to know that I am not alone with this hunk of metal in my chest - I'm still not used to it being th...

I forgot to take my medicine

Oops,
Today should be interesting. I already feel heavy chested, and that has nothing to do with my bra size. LOL.
I'm wondering if I should leave work and drive the 30 miles home to take it. I just might have to. Just peachy!
I've never forgotten to take my meds before since the pacemaker was implanted. Do ya'll think I'll be alright just for today? Just wondering?

Bracelet Recommendation

I just got a medical id bracelet from www.laurenshope.com. It is very pretty while still having an obvious medical id tag. It was received two days after ordering - even with priority shipping and the fact that it came from in state, I thought that was super fast. Just wanted to share my good experience.

Jokes

Since most of us (I think) are 60 or above I thought you may find a smile or two in some of these. If you are not 60, this will give you a hint of what you have to look forward to.

Q: What can a man do while his wife is going through menopause?

A: Keep busy. If you're handy with tools, you can finish the basement. When you are done you will have a place to live
Q: Someone has told me that menopause is mentioned in the Bible. Is that true? Where can it be found?

Digitek

I'm taking .125mg of digitek once a day for PSVT. My cardio wanted me to take it after a holter monitor recorded 8 episodes of SVT within a few days. I did not feel those episodes and the heart rate was never over 138-that's the vt rate. I have since heard and read here on this forum that once you take digitek, you can't stop taking it. Why exactly is that? if the doctors would do an ablation, could I stop taking it then?--i'm also confused about the VT rate..is the VT rate equal to the atrial H...

Another Joke

A very elderly couple were sitting in their favorite chairs not saying much to one another when He very unenthusiastically asked her, "whatever happened to our sexual relations?" She replied in a monotone voice "I don't know. I don't even think we got a Christmas card from them this year."

Just joined the club :)

Hi everyone,

I just had my pacemaker put in a week ago. I'm amazed how quickly I've been healing and feeling better. I didn't take anything more than Tylenol for pain, and that was only for a couple days. This all came up rather fast. I've had a complete heart block since I was born which gives me low blood pressure and a low heart rate, but I never had any troubles with it. I took a premed at the dentist because of it, and recently the standards for pre meds are changing, so I h...

Thanks so much for the advice on cartwheeling. I'm going to print it out and try it when I get home. I've never really had anyone show me how it's done. I think I understand it now. Yay!
Thanks as well to the others for your positive comments. I really wouldn't be where I am today without all of you. This site is wonderful.
