Morning Hypertension

Just wanted to ask mt PMclub friends if anyone suffers from morning hypertension. I have been logging my blood pressure for the past week and noticed it is highest right the first couple of hours after I get up in the morning, e.g. 140/100. The rest of the day it is fine e.g 115/75. I take no meds other than a baby aspirin everyday.

Hopefully, I will get the results of my nuclear stress test today. I will call the doctor myself. I have been wearing my Cardionet monitor for 9 days and...

Soreness

I have had my pacemaker two days shy of two months. I was pretty sick prior to complete heart block diagnosis so was slow with initial recovery. I had been amazed at how much better I felt until a couple days ago. Just after digging through old drawers and boxes, I have had aching in my left shoulder and the area next to the incision which is healed. I assume I pulled a muscle. How many days of soreness shall I tolerate and attribute to overdoing before it makes sense to go back to the doctor....

Feeling great and Thanks to all..

Hi,
I had my pacemaker put in 81 days ago and although I no longer post here to ask a million questions, I still come on daily to see what everyone is talking about.
I want to Thank you all for all your support and words of encouragement. No where else have I found such support and help for any questions no matter how big or small. No one ever made me feel stupid and un-important. Everyone actually cared how I was feeling and showed it.
I am feeling so fantastic, I actually for...

Had my nuclear stress test today

So since I last posted, I started feeling like my old self again from last Sunday until today, Thursday pm. No episodes of rapid heartbeats.

Had my nuclear stress test this morning and felt quite fine all the way through it. No problems whatsoever. Then just after 12pm today as I walked up the stairs at home , it happened again. Good thing I am wearing an event monitor for 25 more days and recorded the event.

So during the testing the technician pulled up my chart and note...

EP study

Had my EP studay today. Procedure went well and they ablated one abnormal area in my ventricle and ablated some abnormal cells around my SA node. Hope it did the trick. After being on bedrest laying flat for 2 hrs after the procedure, the nurse let me go to the bathroom and while in there by artery burst. I pulled the... emerg cord and then had to walk and unlock the door. By the time there nurse was there, the floor and part of the wall was covered in blood and I looked like I had a miscarriage...

anemia and meds

Oh more problems. Dr. just told me that my colesterol count was great but..... my iron and folic acid count was way low and we needed to retest it. Darn, this is what started the whole process toward sudden cardiac death ! I was anemic. That was due to a rare reaction to plavix which I didn't need as there was no blockage problems. I knew I was getting short of breath again and wondered why and I felt more tired than usual too. Anyone out there have anemia problems with meds? I am taking Topro...

Off beta blocker

I am going for my EP study/ablation of ectopic atrial tachycardia on Wednesday. As a result, I had to go off my betablocker. So I didn't take Sunday's doses and felt fine and I didn't take the dose this morning. I felt horrible all day and every time I checked my heart rate it was between 44-50bpm. I have been extrem...ely cold and dizzy all day. Before being medicated my heartrate was always fast with a resting heart rate between 90-100bpm and my bp was around 110/70. I fully expected when goin...

pm for syncope?

I got pm implanted on 8/18 for my syncope. I am 39 y.o., and for the past 20 years I would pass out "with a bang" on average once/every 2-3 years. When I would pass out, I would be out cold for several seconds and go into hypoxic seizure. During the tilt table this June, my heart stopped for 8 sec (and the whole scenario with seizure was repeated). So the cardiologist said pm will work with preventing heart rate drop (but I would still feel lightheaded, dizzy, etc. when "reflex" was activated).<...

Feeling heart beating

Hi everyone. Haven't been on in a little while and hope all are doing well and healing.

I have a question which I know I can get answers on here. I have my next scheduled 6 month checkup for the end of November. I got a dual lead pacemaker for 2-1 heart block in February 2010. Just this past week I have been feeling my heart beating which had happened before my last checkup. At that time I was "tweaked" a bit and it felt much better. I have recenlty lost 20lbs and didn't know if this...

Ejection/Fraction Improvement?

I'm 43 years old and I'm scheduled to have a biventricular pacemaker implanted in about a month. At the time, my ejection/fraction is a mere 15-20% and I have great fatigue. On top of that, I have complex congenital heart disease. with transposition in the great arteries.. There appears to be ventricular inversion; however the transposition is anatomically corrected.

I understand my condition is rare, and everyone's experience is different. However, I guess what I'm asking is to...

No PM yet: meds after receiving PM

Hi,
I am a 32yr male with a third degree AV Block and I constantly feel a little lightheaded and dizzy. After checking with a few docs I will probably be getting a PM very soon.

Can anyone tell me their personal experiences with their meds and how much they had to take? I am kind of worried about this.

If this question has already been asked, please post the link to the answers.

Great news today!

Hi all. I have great news today! I went to the hospital this afternoon for my ECG. Just as the arrhythmia nurse was coming to look at it, the Senior Registrar who looks after me with my EP happened to be walking past & saw me waiting. He came over to ask how I was after the ablation. So I told him about my symptoms & he arranged an urgent treadmill/exercise test there & then! I was on the treadmill within 5 minutes!

The Senior Reg then came to look at my ECG & treadmill results & he s...

ECG on Monday

Hi all. Latest news from me. I was too scared to go to A&E last Tuesday when I had the chest pain. I didn't want to "make a fuss over nothing" if it turned out to be nothing. Stupid I know! Especially as I had more chest pain on Wednesday.

On Thursday I decided to e-mail the Specialist Arrhythmia Nurse at the hospital. I told him how I'd been having chest pain & also that my blood pressure was 85/50 (GP checked it week before) & I feel dizzy all the time. I asked if this is "normal" p...

plavix

Thanks to all of you who replied to my question. I'm now waiting for a callback from the Dr.'s office. I got the scolding about how I needed Plavix and there was no comparable medication etc etc etc. This was from the ofc. nurse. I'm waiting to hear from the Dr. He has been fairly good about meds tho I had to be firm about getting off amidadrone which was very toxic to me. I have gotten meds from Canada but....when I did it, it was abit of a hassle having to contact them every month about it, ma...

plavix & aspirin

My Dr. is not in on Mondays so I'm hoping someone can give some advice. I've been on Plavix since I was implanted in 3/09. As everyone knows it is not cheap. I'm having the house worked on so my husband will be safe and comfortable when he finally gets to come home, of course this is paid for by us as agencies etc. that used to help on longer do. Due to diabetes, he lost both his legs above the knee and it's been a long haul since April. Now he gets a hernia operation this Wed. to further delay...
