I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about tiredness. Did people felt it was better to do some exercise every day, like go for a walk or should I rest? i don't want to push myself too hard but I don't want to go on feeing tired.

Anger

I had my implant about 2 months ago. Immediately afterward I noticed I didn't feel like my "self", I felt emotionless, as if part of me had died. I didn't care about things anymore. No, not depression. Something different.
At first I felt much better but then I got a sinus infection that has hung on for a month. I have to work 50 hours mandatory every week and before the surgery worked 60 with no problem. I've lost interest in my job, can barely make myself do the 60 hours and no longer wor...

There is hope

I have had Gerry, my pacemaker for 18 months now and have been a regular visitor to the Pacemaker Club since discharge from hospital.
Through this site, I have found so many other people going through the same feelings and physical effects.
What is particularly noticable is how so many of us have been affected psychologically. Some suffer anxiety and depression for a few weeks, others, for months and years, often accompanied by physical symptoms of stress which can be mistaken for phys...

Very Tired

Hi everyone, I am a 42yr old male who just received a pacemaker 3 days ago. I am totally exhausted and can't seemed to keep my eyes open for longer that 2hrs at a time before having to go lay down and get some sleep. Is this normal? I'm not taking any kind of pain meds or anything else that could be making me sleepy. I'm hoping that this will pass. Any thoughts?
Thank You,
Reese

tired

I received my pm on 7/7/10 and posted about not feeling as well as i thought i would. I have no pain and am feeling a little better, still not the energy i expected. Now i am having an ache in the middle of my upper back and coughing. I am due for a ct on 9/8/10 and hope that nothing serious is found. I have lung nodules that are being tracked by ct every six months and am very worried. Please keep your fingers crossed.

Handling stress

I have noticed that since getting my pacemaker and having all the heart issues I can't seem to deal with any stress. It seems like the least little thing will just have me crying or completely unwound. I have always been someone who worries about everything but now I find myself letting tiny things depress me or stress me completely out. It just seems like my body physically can't take the stress, then I actually feel bad from it. I know stress can cause physical problems but I am talking everyd...

DISTRAUGHT.....almost KILLED!!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to share this with you as I feel totally traumatised & just don't know how to deal with it all. You may remember I had an ablation, just over 5 weeks ago. On Friday I was almost KILLED!!

On Friday night my son (age 17) & I were sitting on the sofa & he asked me to make him a sandwich. We got up & within ONE MINUTE a slab of concrete was thrown through our front door (glass door), it went through our sitting room door (also glass) & landed on the sofa where we...

life again

Hi everybody my prayers are with everyone here on this site. I've been pacing and motorcycle riding "both" for one year now, I got a new lease on life with the pacemaker. I actually love knowing this little machine is keeping my heart beating right.
Well I think I left the laundry on the line in the rain. Doc says I have glaucoma and that there's a chance I'm gonna be blind within five years. Is there anyone here that also has to deal with both please write to me. Countryriders...

Would love some reassurance

I'm a 38 year old mother of 2 small children and have been told I have second degree heartblock (Moebitz 2) and require a pacemaker. Surgery is scheduled for 13 September & although I have a wonderfully supportive husband and family, I know nobody who has had this procedure. I've no idea what happens afterwards in reality & am quite worried as we do not have family nearby. I know it's very individual experience, but I'd really like to get an idea of the reality of the recovery time and any us...

Feeling Strange

Hi, I am a 45 year old female I had a PM implanted 6/30/10 after a trip to the ER thinking I was either having a heart attack or a panic attack ( I just didn't feel normal) They decide to keep me overnight to monitor me and then the nurse wouldn't let me sleep because my heart rate went to 30 and my BP was around 90/45. After staying up all night I was sent to do a stress test on tread mill of course I didn't reach 200, I was sooo sleepy. Then they did an Echo and some other test and decided I...

torture

I have had a pacemaker/defib since March of '04. It only had one episode, which was handled well. However, now (in the last month or so), I constantly hear the damn thing ticking 24/7. It ticks when I try to sleep; it ticks all time! It is driving me crazy!

Dr. checked device and said all was well. But this ticking is driving me nuts because it forces me to think constantly about the fact that I am being kept alive by this machine.

If anyone can tell me why this is happenin...

In the club now

I am a 32yr old very active male, currently living in Switzerland and since pretty much 24hrs I am in the club now. Some of you might have seen my first 2 questions. Just wanted to say that the actual procedure of getting a PM is a walk in the park, compared to what I expected. Yes, it hurts afterwards, but nothing what a pain killer won't fix.

I have (or used to have) AV Block III and a resting heart rate in the mid 30s to low 40s. Now I have a minimum of 50.

Just some a...

Scared

I had not used this site for at least 10 to 11 months and posted a message a couple of days ago. I had 22 reads but no advice not sure if my funny beats were important or not.

This probably sounds really bad but I was hoping for someone to reply not sure what is going on with me been to A & E twice and waiting to see Cardiologist. I am so scared.
