PAC's PVC's and pacing

I was wearing a 24 halter last week and got the results today. It seems that I my heart races at 7:30 am and about 10:30 am. Both of which I can easily explain..morning rush to get out of the house and mid morning rush to get to a different class. Finally an answer!! LOL
The lady told me my heart rate was going down after that on it's own and so that was good too.
One thing she did notice that left me a little confused was when I pace it seems I am pacing at night. Right after I pace I...

Cardiac Monitoring

My new EP told me today that he does not do home cardiac monitoring. My old one did, but I have had many problems with my old EP. Is there anyone else that does not do home cardiac monitoring? He said that the pacemakers are so reliable that you do not need it between checkups. Anyway, I have been feeling so much better since they put in the 2 leads and a new pacemaker. I was so sick from the one I had placed last July. I got a copy of how my previous single lead pacemaker was dropping bea...

Hi there...my name is Andrea and I go for my "Shocker" surgery next Monday, Feb 8th. I will have a defibrillator put in due to VT.

I've been a heart patient my whole life. Born w/ tetrollogy of fallot, but had a total repair when I was 4 by Dr. Denton Cooley at Texas Heart Inst. I've always had right side enlargement and mvp, but issues started increasing. I ofcourse always said..."I'm FINE." In November, some of my coworkers noticed my blue hands and nervous attitude and sent me...

Frustration

OK,
so today did not go exactly as planned (OK not at all as planned). I was supposed to see my EP this afternoon to hear what he had to say about the Event Recorder and I don't know who or where things got screwed up, but they did. They called me at around 10 this morning to tell me that they are cancelling the appointment because from his point of view there is no reason for me to see him. When I asked why, they couldn't tell me. I then called my Mom since she took the day off to be there...

you gotta be kidding me......

I thought that this was too funny not to share... As some of you may remember I had it out with my last cardiologist for a multitude of reasons. Well I contacted their office last week some time to figure out what they would like to do about a research study I am in... what a shock.. said they would call me back and never did. Secondly.. I got a phone call today from their office from someone wanting to download my pacemaker over the phone to check the battery. How comical is it that ONE I no...

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I wonder if this thing will interfere with our pacemaker's operation.

A simple solution to the controversy over full-body scanners has been invented. It is a booth that you step into and while it will not X-ray you, IT WILL DETONATE ANY EXPLOSIVE DEVICE YOU HAVE ON YOUR BODY.

This would be a win-win for everyone, and put an end to the crap about racial profiling!

Post Op Anxiety

Hi All,
I am 1 week post op today. I got my PM for SSS that came on suddenly and I was symptomatic and within 5 or 6 days of diagnosis I was in for my PM. I am 41 and kind of freaking out! I feel better heart wise except for some irregular beats when I start moving around a lot but I think they could be brought on by anxiety! I was a pretty anxious person before this but now I am taking xanax once or twice a day to help calm down. Every twinge or anything I feel I am constantly checking my...

16 yr old. son doing great after PM

I just wanted to post that my son got his pacemaker on November 20th. He has a CHB. He is doing great, back to normal 16 yr old. His heart won't get below 60 b.p.m., which is worlds away from his resting heart rate of 35 b.p.m. We took him to the doctor the other day for a regular drs. visit and his heart rate was 80 b.p.m., I don't remember the last time it was that high. Pretty exciting!!!! He is surprised at how much energy he has now. He didn't realize how tired he was and how little he...

Pookie's Rotator Cuff

Hi Again.

Last month I finally found out why my left shoulder was killing me for the past 4 yrs.....I have a 50% torn rotator cuff.

Yesterday I finally got in to see the specialist and he has decided that the best route for now is to strengthen the muscles. So I go back today to learn specific exercises.

Then in the summer he said he would CT scan my shoulder again, and if it was worse, we would or could go ahead with the surgery.

Let's hope the exer...

MIBI test results....

Hi everyone....I won't be getting the results of my MIBI until February 11th. An actual sit down appointment face to face with my EP!!!!!!!!!

However, I did receive a letter from the hospital yesterday that my Loop Recorder is scheduled for February 16th.

This will be the 2nd time I had to wear one of these. I just wore one for a month back in June. But this time he, my EP, said I'd probably only need to wear it for 2 weeks if they capture some "good" recordings.

Looks like i've got to go through it again

Hi all.
Thanks to those who replied to my last, rather confused, mailing. Not seen cardiologist as yet but dr's recieved letter outlining plan to implant a dual lead pm asap. I am a little aprehensive about this as initial pm implantation( 2 years ago) was so distressing. Hey ho..... is'nt it great? Never mind i am grateful it can be sorted. Something always happens to shake things up a little. My husband lost his job shortly before christmas..Things have been hard ...he is working again...

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

CardioRhythm and CardioCare

Has anybody tried this product and were there any changes or was it a waste of money. It would be nice to find some natural substance or over the counter product for Atrial Fibulation instead of going broke from using the way too expensive prescription medication.

In denial?

As some of you may know from my previous posts that I'm going to meet with a arrythmia specialist on wednesday after my cardiologist told me I need a pm for my heart block. I have no symptoms at all. But my cardiologist seems to think the slowness will start ruining my heart over time. Has anyone ever had a pm put in for heart block with no symptoms, and if so, is there any difference in how you feel now? I have this "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude. I think I'm just in denial.

Scared!

I'm 27 years old and found out Friday that have a pacemaker put in April 1st. While I know it will help me it's very scary! It started when my heart would start racing and I would get very dizzy. I have to grab onto things when the dizziness starts. I used to pass out a lot. My cardiologist found that my hemoglobin was down to 5.1 and I received 3 blood transfusions. I am on almost 15 pills a day to regulate low heart beat and low blood pressure. They have run a tilt table test, holter mo...

I finally read all my discharge instructions, aren't you impressed? LOL Some are standard, some are quite different from what I've heard from others here so I thought I'd share my doctor's take on follow up care...

2. Activity

Mydaughter not me

My daughter who is 56 years old and in great shape (she thought) is a yoga gal, pilates gal, a runner and walks her 2 dogs twice a day all of a sudden felt weird, out of breath, heart palipitations, fluttering of heart -it was getting worse so one night last week when she went to bed about 40 minutes later she shot up in bed and the whole room seemed dark and darker. She woke her husband and said she needed to get to the ER right away - he took her to a hospital near home that specializes only i...
