A new brake-through was discovered in a small town in South Jersey.
One morning Jimmy woke up and was running late to work. It was his first day at his new job. With his mind set on impressing his boss he decided to wake up alittle early to get a head start. He took his shower and finished dressing up. Soon after dressing up he gathered his things and headed out to work. He got to his car and realized that he forgot to take his beta blocker. He quickly ran back into his house and gra...

Is there a way that we can edit a post or a reply after the fact?
Sometimes I need to do that. I have brain fog occasionally. (Well, sometimes more than occasionally).
Just wondering,
Suze

Hello to all of my paced friends!!! I hope this new year is finding everyone in good health so far!
I have a few questions and was wondering if any of you could offer some advice.
Here's a quick update...I have had my pacemaker for 1 year. About 6 wees ago, I had a complete sinus node ablation. This ablation left me dependant on my pacemaker.
I have been experiancing pain that I believe is associated with the pacemaker. I no longer have a sinus node, so the pa...

I spent the better part of the last two days with Loopy Lou and her family. Lucky me!!!!! She'll have to post the picture of us together, I managed not to get one. :o( Her family is so lovely!! Her husband is a riot and her kids are so sweet and polite.
And Loopy, well, she's my twin! We compared scars and pm lumps. We are both loud and silly and laugh all the time. We discovered we have the same music on our ipods and like the same cocktails. We both love big goofy dogs, preferabl...

Greetings.....
It's been a while since I have made a post. On December 4th 2008 I had surgery for PM and Lead extraction. The surgeon believed that I had an infection. I didn't think that was the case as I know I would have had different symptoms. My thought was that I had a lead that might be pressing up against a nerve and sending me these terrible pains up my arm, into my upper back...and directly at the PM site.
History: I have had a PM for 24 years....in 2006 I h...

Haven't visited here for a long while. Just recently widowed at Easter time, now trying to look after myself a bit more. I have some concerns & wondering if anyone has experienced all over complete body tingling and pain, sometimes so bad that I have to rest for a few days to gain my strength. Am wondering if it has anything to do with my pacemaker which is a 1997 model Sulzer . This is in the process of being checked, and I have had a holter monitor on, and awaiting the results of that. Am...

I was at the pacemaker clinic at my doctor's office and posted at the check in was a list of foods/spices to be avoided. Licorice and cinnamon were two on the list. I can't remmber the others but these two stuck out in my mind. I know that licorice can mess with your potasium levels if you eat a whole bag in a 24 hour period. Not that I have ever eaten a whole bag of Twizzlers in that time frame. Is this a coumadin issue or is something that an AV block patient should worry about. I've bee...

Electric Frank pointed out something I think is important. When I first joined the pacemaker club I said in my profile. And i quote Healthy as a horse except for the pacemaker. He suggested I probably should have said healthy as a horse because of the pacemaker. As usual Electric Frank is absolutely correct. However thinking back on that now I did not know that at the time. I thought that having a pacemaker made you some what less of a person. Now I know that is not the case. You were just sick...

As most of you that have read my posts know Ive been having a lot of trouble with atrial failure. A couple of weeks ago my EP removed my failed atrial lead and replaced it with a new Tined lead from medtronics. The lead was placed not in the atrial but at the entrance to the coronary sinus. The amazing thing about this lead is that the conduction/pacing end floats free in the artery. It is attached to the artery or vein wall with tines several inches from the end. The lead was designed to...

I got me first PM on Dec 8,2008 (little over 3 weeks ago). The whole thing was a complete surprise to me. I went in for a physical, Dr. heard irregular heart beat, set me up for several tests, and BOOM...the evening before Thanksgiving, I'm told I need a pacemaker. They wanted me to go in that night !!!, but I put if off till after Thanksgiving. I was going 3 seconds without a heart beat. I am not sure what that means...I mean the danger of it, but the Dr. seemed quite concerned. The cardi...

I can't wait to meet her and her family!!!! We've been texting off and on since they got to FL. I don't think there's anything in Orlando they've missed, sounds like they're having a wonderful time! They will be in my neck of the woods tomorrow, can't wait!
