Went to get staples out today and I was shocked when all my questions and concerns were dismissed so quickly I was very disappointed. I have the hiccups once or twice a day for two weeks, severe heartburn at night and dizzy spells with any increase in activity. Besides that my incision site is soft and is almost like you can see a wire misplaced... I have a gut feeling something is wrong and yet the pacemaker nurse blew me off to come back in six weeks . should I be worried or just wait it out...

Just wondering if any one has ever been in a casino and felt weird? Maybe it felt like little shocks but even get those at home sometimes, too.
My incision at two months after surgery is still very tender as well as below the incision and on the side of my arm pit and in the front of my breast below the incision. My arm is sore too . When I say anything to the nurse, she said some people take 6 months to heal. Wish I knew if I was one that would take that long. I would appreciate any...

Back from doctor ...
Blood pressure not very high. Heart beating quite fast 85-90 when laying down ...
Still lots of air in stomach that can explain my extreme fatigue . Doctor did adjust the medicine and took out the one that avoids me to pass out (even with my PM) so told him I do not want to faint again. Did give me some others pills to again take out air in stomach. When will I see the end ?
The fact that my blood is also suddenly becoming very cold should come also from the...

Hi all! I just joined on behalf of my father who just got his PM on Tuesday. He has a Boston Sci. and it's set at 65 bpm. He had a low heart rate and constant palps. Tonight he has noticed a few palps. Is this normal? I am trying to keep him from stressing out. But now I'm stressing! Thanks in advance for any help ;D

Larry had a bad gallstone infection. They almost didn't figure out what it was in time. 3 different hospitals. Never called the Mayo Clinic to tell them what was going on with their patient.
When they finally did call after a week in the hospital the Mayo sent one of the heart transplant surgeons down to check Larry out. Within 2 hours they had him transported to the Mayo clinic. Within 2 days they had a LVAD put in.
They screwed around so much at the 1st 3 hospitals t...

Seriously, children that have had pacers, here's a question: When you grew up why did they move your pacer to your chest? And why can't adults have their pacer placed in their abdomen? I'm thinking it must be an issue with the leads.
I would think complication with rate response would be less since your pacer isn't right next to your arm. And people generally have at least a little more body fat in their abdomen than they do on their chest wall. People could wear any choice of top that they...

I am a 56 yo male. I have a Boston Scientific PM that was implanted in March. Since the PM was put in, every once in a while I get sharp pains under my left breast area. It is not like my whole chest is in pain. The best description I can give is that it is like a dagger sticking me. But it hurts so sharply that it makes it hard to move or breath for about a minute. Then it goes away.
The PM is implanted in the upper left chest. Otherwise I feel great. Just wondering if anyone...

It may be that using a hedge trimmer above my head and suchlikeis aggravating the site. i can live with the nuisance but would like some advice form any kken, PM packin' member has experienced similar discomfort after such a timespan. I find the postings encouraging overall.

Hope some of you could have an answer to this ...
I am now more than 3 months after my PM implant and can still several times a day feel an extreme fatigue: suddenly I can feel my blood becoming cold in my whole body, have to yawn to take my breath and am feeling completely weak and obliged to sleep for one or two hours (so not so easy when it happening at work :-) )
I just have the impression it happens each time the PM is taking over.
Will see my cardiologist again next wednes...

Two weeks ago, I had my 15 yr old pacemaker replaced by a Medtronic model 5024M-58. I have not had a moment of peace since its insertion.
I immediately got severe indigestion which the Dr attributed to the strong antibiotic. I also felt a pain in my upper chest resonating to my jaw. After a week the "indigestion" abated but the problem with the pain in my upper chest/jaw persisted.
I also developed a sense that an electric impulse was radiating accross the top of my chest. I develo...

I had a pacemaker installed 4.5 weeks ago and I have been hospitalized ever since with sever dizziness, nausea, headaches, neck pain and loss of apatite. I,m on intraveinous saline, dextrose and medication for nausea and restless leg syndrome. I was told by two of my nurses that my problem is a reaction to my pacemaker. My doctors have not informed me that my condition may be related to my pacemaker. Has anyone had ths type of reaction and what did they have to do to correct it?

In reply to taking car to mechanic- we did have the static strip put on, had the rust check gismo fuse taken out and the incabin filter changed on our car to no improvement and all our neighbors' cars make me feel the same way. My doctor has been away for a month and that's a problem.

Well, here I go again...I just got out of the hospital after having my third surgery on my pacemaker/diffibrulator (icd). My icd was put in on 10/28/09 with no complications. When I went for my interrogation about 8 weeks later, they found that the ventricle lead had detached and I had to go for a second surgery right before Christmas. Again, I went for another interrogation and they found that the upper lead was reading but not capturing. The doctor sent me for an xray and saw the icd and wires...

1st post. Got pacemaker Apr 14th, set to 60 bpm for bradycardia issues. Walked yesterday and felt odd after. Bought pressure cuff, took bp and pulse. Pulse was above 100 and has stayed near there since. Before yesterday's walk it had been consistently at 60 or very close to it. I'll call the doc tomorrow but am wondering if anyone else has had such an issue and what came of it?

Im about 12 weeks into dealing with my new pacemaker now. Everything is going well. However, my left breast is still quite larger than my right one. Ive always had a perfectly symetrical chest. I'm a guy so i know this probably sounds a bit odd. lol... But I just assumed it was from swelling. I was swollen as well as bruised for quite a while. Im not sore anymore and the bruising is gone completely but the side i got my pacer on is still much larger than my right side. Not just the normal hump o...

I just realized that it has been 3 1/2 months since my replacement surgery. I never have had enough pain or sensitivity to limit my activities, and I'm not even aware that the pacer is there most of the time. I did go through a period where there were sutures migrating out that would snag on my shirt, but I fixed that by pulling them out with tweezers.
The old pacer used to get caught between my clavicle and collar bones, but never really hurt. This one seems to glide over all that....

I had my PM/Defibrillator put in on 2009. I am 35 year old male and would like to know why my PM/Defibrillator feels like it has never healed or set into place. It is always tender and puffy. I can not even lay on my left side when I sleep. (EVER)
I do not have insurance (waiting on SSI). So if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. P.S. my pacemaker goes off(works) kicking my heart back into rhythm at least 5 to 9 times a day. Does this happen to anyone else. If so how long ar...
