Anti-anxiety Medication

I am wondering if anybody is being treated for panic attacks - and what meds you are taking in order to combat them. I recently developed some trouble with supraventricular tachycardias (on top of the regular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy symptoms), have gotten shocked on two separate occasions, and have passed out on a third in the last two months. The anxiety (a problem I've been dealing with for some time) has gotten out of control and I think I've finally got to reconcile myself with the notio...

Please help!

Hi there, My name is Junior. I'm 25 years old. I was born with holes in my heart and valves all mixed up. I had my open heart surgery when I was 10 and had lived a pretty normal life until the unexpected happened. April 5, 2010, on a monday morning I woke up completely feeling normal, drove to work fine and did my usual routine saying hello to my co workers in the call center. As I sat down waiting for my computer to boot itself, I started feeling lightheaded. I informed my co worker next to me...

worried!

Hi everyone!
I do not have a PM, but my husband of 15 years does now, as of Nov 2010.
It has been stressful for him, and me of course watching him go through all this at the young age of 45. I want so badly to say the right thing, and ease his anxieties about having it. He felt great right after the implant, but then it all changed. We don't know if he is having anxiety, or why he feels a "flutter" almost always. It freaks him out, and me too! I just want so badly for him to feel g...

Has anyone ever had what I think is some kind of skipping or arrythmias while sending your information over the phone?  It’s happened every time I put that magnet over my chest, by the time that third light blinks on I feel slighty dizzy and some kind of arrthymia.

New fully paced, weak muscle response -- Ack!

Hi,
I'm worried sick again. It's been 6 week since my device implant and my doc did an echo. He said that the heart muscle response was on the low end (a 53, not pulse) and could be because of the new electrical connection not working as well as a natural electrical impulse. He said low was 55, whatever that means. Again, not a pulse thing. Should I be worried about the heart muscle? Do they do reposition surgeries to get a better lead position? I am a stage 2 AV block and am fully paced. I...

I have a-fib and I take 5 mg of Coumadin daily and 100 mg of Lopressor each day. My a-fib usually comes and goes but I have been in a-fib for the past 2 days. I feel my heartbeat in my throat which makes me cough and I am extremely tired and short of breath. I went to bed last night at 7PM and slept until 645AM this morning but I don't feel rested. I could sleep now. Also I have a metallic/bloody taste in my mouth most of the time, I'm sure from the Coumadin. Does anyone else have these sa...

Hello

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Things have been going south for me, I can’t work, I can’t go to college, and my body tingles all the time. I have constant migraines and severe depression. I’m now trying to get on disability, if they’ll even accept me. I’m just really down. I’m terrible lonely, and I just feel useless. Sorry, I just really needed to vent. My heart races a lot and makes me dizzy, yet the doctors do nothing, they prescr...

*sigh*

Well, at 47 yrs of age, I'm officially done working according to my doctor. I had a heart attack in August of last year, a bypass October '10, Pacemaker in December '10 and another catheterization 3 weeks ago due to a questionable ekg. My heart, before the bypass, was 20-25%. After the bypass, it went up to 35%. After an echo cardiogram was done 3 weeks ago, my heart is down to 20%. So, after 30+ years of working, the last 19 at my present (past now) employer, I'm done. That is hard to dea...

I just had an ICD implanted 2 weeks ago yesterday. It was extremely unexpected, I have known pretty much my entire life I had an abnormal heart rhythm, but a few months ago I started having dizzy spells and I passed out in January. My cardiologist had me wear a monitor at home, and called me after one day to tell me to get to the hospital, that was a Saturday. I had an EP study on Monday, and Wednesday I had the ICD. I had no time to emotionally prepare for this. I am back to work, and am really...

Anyone In The Same Boat???

I’m a 56 year old male who recently had a pacemaker implant (on 1/13/11). The surgery itself went well and I was feeling ok the first month, but recently I started feeling some kind of rumbling in my chest, especially when I go for a walk, and it seems like my heart beats so hard and this feeling is driving me crazy. I went to see my cardiologist a few days ago and told her how I was feeling so she ordered for me to get an x-ray and the result came out ok. My doctor mentioned that I should...

Flying

A couple weeks ago I asked about flying. As I was going thru security I had my I have a pacemaker card out. I never got a chance to show it to anyone. (It's bad enough I don't get carded any more now this) I went to stand by the full body scan and was flagged over to walk thru that arch thing. Went thru I'd say in a couple seconds and it never beeped or buzzed or whatever it does. Someone told me later I should not have gone thru that. I thought it was I should not get the wand. I'm flyin...

New Pacemaker Girl

Hello everyone,
I’m recently a recipient of a fresh brand spanking new Pacemaker!  Yes, one week ago I passed out at home, went to ER, had multiple episodes of my heart stopping, 4 days later had a pacemaker put in. It’s been one of the worst weeks of my life. I am now home and scared of the unknown, scared of this device that I will need for the rest of my life. I am 36 years old, overall healthy, and have 2 children who I adore and want to be around for. Any words of wi...

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
