Update 2 on tsimbrow!

Well today I got word that Taryn is very sick and is not doing well but is fighting.
I ask that all of you lovely people remember her in your thoughts. Being young and facing so much sometimes I don't grasp the strength people have. Taryn is a strong women and is fighting her battle.
I can't imagine how scary it must be for her and her family. So lets continue to keep her in our thougths.

Blessings,
Tammy

My Doctor's appt.

Well I finally had my appt today. My doctor confirmed that my heart rhythm is getting worse. My pacemaker did pick up episodes of irregular rhythm which I thought was going on. It was basically just like I thought. I am having atrial tachy and then a pause and then slow beats, then it repeats again. He seemed concerned but I could not get many answers about what this actually is and why I seem to be getting worse. He changed my medicine to Sotalol 80 mg twice a day and I have to go back in a wee...

It's the worried Mom again

My daughter (56) had her pacemaker put in 2 weeks ago. She left last week for a trip to Chicago by car and then flew to Florida with her husband for a little rest and relaxation. She feels good, but when picking her up at the airport tonight she told me last night she woke up and her heart was palipating and of course anxiety set in - she couldn't sleep all night - she was plain afraid - I thought after the PM was put in this palipating and otgher stuff going on would stop and so did she - she i...

CRT-D

My husband had a 3 lead ICD installed last July. They optimized it in September...everything was going good until a few weeks ago. Now he gets very short of breath when walking even a short distance..to the point of dizzy and nearly passing out....only happens when he walks or does anything stenuous. We can't go anywhere for fear..I'm sure you all know that feeling. Anyway we went to the cardio 2 weeks ago and he's been having short runs of V-tach..the doctor asked him at the time if these dizz...

Want to thank you all for the reply's to my prior post, I am step by step following the reply's to see which one works, my concern was that the light shock I was getting from the switches and phone charger would set off the defb and get hammered, but I see that was answered also, so again thanks and all have a good day, Take Care.

adrenalin and low heart rate

Ok, here's a new one for ya. I've been having a private conversation with a member about this, but I want to know what anyone else thinks about this theory. I've had panic/anxiety attacks almost all my adult life. Well someone (not on here) told me that my body is probably sending me extra adrenalin when my heart drops too low which gives makes me have panic attacks. It make sense, but I don't know if it's true or not. Any thoughts?? I would love it if it were true, because then maybe my...

Cardiac Cath

I just got home from the hospital having a Cardiac Cath. Everything went great as they took me in 45 minutes ahead of schedule. The test was good also as I didn't have any additional blockage so no stent work was needed.

I had not so good entertainment of the suicidal attack on the IRS office building in Austin Texas by a very unhappy political pilot. It made my normal 4 hour bed stay go fast, but also upsets me as a pilot, to use this kind of action to prove his feelings.

Pacemaker numero deux

Hi all. Chippy here, I think I am glad to say that my current pm is going to be replaced by a bells and whistles upgrade; i currently have the skoda model! lol. My proceedure is booked for the 9th of march. After knocking my ep for lack of communication we had a great chat about pm syndrome... she drew pictures which helped!!. The way she described pacemaker syndrome: The signal to beat comes from the sinus node at the top of the heart, i think that signal then travels down to the bottom chamber...

Hi friends I think I need some help here; I have been trying to deal with my situation since last month after I had VT and my ICD came in to shock me 5 times! For the life of me ever since then my life was upside down. I couldn't get back to normal and everyday for the past 4 weeks was great ordeal. I had to deal with my ongoing fear of the shocks recurring, something that my EP said was common esp in patients who had multiple shocks, but I also had fatigue together with other arrhythmia that c...

Magnets in dental chair headrests?

Most dental professionals have never thought that their dental chair could be a risk to patients with pacemakers or implantable defibrillators (ICDs). They need to think again. A few months ago, Boston Scientific, one of the major manufacturers of pacemakers/ICDs, added a new caution to their contraindications for dental patients. They warn that if a patient has a pacemaker/ICD, and the dental chair has a magnetic headrest with strength over 10 gauss, the patient should NOT sit in the chair.

Rythem Changes

Curious. Anyone out there notice your heart rythems have changed since you got your PM? I feel like now I have PAC's, PVC's, skips, tiny pauses and I don't think I had these before.

I understand that it could entirely be possible that I am just in tune to it now and I never noticed them before....but some of these "different" beats I feel like I would notice.

Every halter turns out normal, every interrogation says nothing happened...but I feel things. And I don't think I w...

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
